Senior Judge Chester B. Muroski, presiding over Domestic Relations Contempt Court on Thursday, ordered the following defendants jailed for failure to pay child support:

Brian Cupano, 131 Birchwood Estate, Exeter, jailed for six months for failure to pay $19,201 in support of one child.

John Vetter, 543 Main St., Edwardsville, jailed for 90 days for failure to pay $13,690 in support of one child.

The following defendants have warrants out for their arrest:

David B. Argott, 134 Birch Knoll Road, Hazleton, for failure to pay $11,306 in support of one child; $13,591 in support of one child; and $500 in support of two children.

Jesus Perez, 10 S. Dawes Ave., Apt. 2, Kingston, for failure to pay $33,840 in support of one child.

Michael Davis, 87 Cist St., Hanover Township, for failure to pay $33,162 in support of two children; $9,961 in support of one child.

Rollover crash

DORNSIFE - A 46-year-old woman was injured Wednesday in a crash along Route 225 in Little Mahanoy Township.

Trooper Wendy Keefer, state police at Stonington, said Lori Dewald, of Trevorton, was driving a 2001 Nissan Xterra north at about 7 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle and left the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll over.

Dewald was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.

Keefer said charges are pending investigation.

Gun incident

SHAMOKIN - Robert J. Bresko, 43, of 926 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, has been charged by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to a March 12 incident involving an AK-47 assault rifle in the parking lot of the Shamokin Post Office.

At about 10:15 p.m., police said two unidentified people were sitting in a car when Bresko pulled into the lot in a black 1998 Chevrolet Blazer and began staring at them. The victims said Bresko then asked, "Who drives that (expletive) white Camaro?"

When one of the occupants of the Camaro told Bresko not to worry about it, police said Bresko began to call him obscene names and asked him to stick his head into the vehicle before asking, "Who's (expletive) around now?"

One of the victims said Bresko then picked up an AK-47 assault rifle and placed it on the front seat. The victim told police Bresko appeared to be intoxicated.

After the victims provided police with a description of Bresko and his vehicle, Patrolman William Zalinski located Bresko's vehicle in the 500 block of North Shamokin Street and found the rifle lying on the seat/floor area.

Theft charge

COAL TOWNSHIP - Thomas Perez, 31, of 10 N. Orange St., Mount Carmel, will be charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with retail theft for allegedly stealing $59.53 in merchandise from Wal-Mart Supercenter at 1:15 p.m. March 13. He was apprehended by store security.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Paul J. Dombroski, 60, of 561 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, will be charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with driving under the influence after he was found inside his parked vehicle at 3:10 p.m. Feb. 3 in the middle of an off-ramp along Route 61 near the former Ames department store.

He was taken to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for evaluation and was released. Testing found his blood-alcohol level to be 0.376 percent, Lapotsky said.

Tires slashed

COAL TOWNSHIP - The tires of a 1998 Honda owned by Emily Barnhart, 30, of Coal Township, and parked in the 1200 block of West Spruce Street were slashed between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 644-0333.

Plate stolen

UPPER PAXTON TOWNSHIP - Kimberly Martz, of Dalmatia, reported to state police at Lykens that someone removed a license plate from her vehicle, while it was parked in the parking lot of the Weis Markets between 6 a.m. and noon Thursday. The license plate number is HKT-7318.

Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - Frances Heckmen, 56, of 96 W. Miner St., Coaldale, will be charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with harassment for allegedly making sexual advances and having unwanted physical contact on four different occasions between Jan. 29 and Feb. 6 with a Coal Township woman in her West Walnut Street home.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 17-year-old Shamokin male was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with disorderly conduct for allegedly using his cell phone Feb. 20 to video record another student in a bathroom stall inside Shamokin Area Middle/High School.

Flower theft

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating a theft that occurred between Feb. 16 and Saturday at the Northumberland Memorial Park, Route 61.

Police reported that someone removed an artificial flower arrangement from a mausoleum plot belonging to Donna E. Ross, 58, of Selinsgrove.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Robert Uitz, 19, Sayre, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one month to eleven months, 29 days, and a fine of $500, for the offense of Simple Assault. Officer Sean Flynn of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Uitz for the offense in November of 2012.

Samuel Lundy, 32, Wysox, PA, was resentenced following revocation of his original sentence of probation to a new term of probation which will extend for a period of 24 months, and a fine of $500, for the offense of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance; he was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $160. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Lundy for the offense in June of 2011.

Cody Collins, 20, Oklahoma, was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 64 months to 144 months, and fines totaling $1,500, for two counts of the offense of Assault; he was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $5650.97. Troopers James Dughi and Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Collins for the offenses in May and November of 2012, respectively.

Lauren Parks, 19, Troy, PA, was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and a fine of $75, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Troopers James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Parks for the offense in May of 2012.

Heather Shaffer, 25, Waverly, NY, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from two months to four months, and a fine of $50, for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance; she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Shaffer for the offense in September of 2011.

Chase Argot, 29, Wysox, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional of from 90 days to 18 months, and a fine of $1,500, for the offense of driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 18 months. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Argot for the offense in April of 2012.

Michael Johns, 28, Lowman, NY, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 11 months to 36 months, and a fine of $500.00, for the offense of Theft By Unlawful Taking. Johns was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $600. Officer Rich Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Johns for the offense in June of 2012.

Dakota Hinckley, 19, Monroeton, PA, was sentenced to probation for a term of six months for the offense of Solicitation to Commit Forgery.; he was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $80. Trooper James Youngblood of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hinckley for the offense in July of 2012.

Dede Keene, 43, Waverly, NY, was resentenced following revocation of her original sentence of probation to a new term of probation that will extend for a period of 18 months, and a fine of $250, for the offense of Resisting Arrest. Officer Cody Welch of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Keene for the offense in September of 2012.

Tyler VanHousen, 20, Sayre, PA, was resentenced following revocation of his original sentence of probation to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months and 60 days to 24 months, and fines totaling $800, for the offenses of Criminal Trespass and Harassment. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested VanHousen for the offenses in February of 2012.

Nicholas Preston, 25, Wyalusing, PA, was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 10 days to 12 months, and fines totaling $2,000, for two counts of the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Preston will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 24 months. Trooper John Youngblood of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Preston for the offenses in August of 2012.

Joseph G. Allen, 40, Athens, PA, was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from nine months to 24 months, and fines totaling $2,000, for the offenses of Driving Under the Influence

of Alcohol and Driving While Operation Privilege Suspended. Allen will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 18 months. Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Preston for the offenses in January of 2013.

Mario Sanchez, 30, Leraysville, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five days to 50 days, and a fine of $500, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Trooper Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sanchez for the offense in January of 2013.

Jason Lopez, 28, Elmira, NY, was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 11 months to 36 months, and fines totaling $2,800, for the offenses of Aggravated Harassment by Prisoner and Criminal Mischief. Lopez was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $97. Troopers

David Sweeney and Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lopez for the offenses in March of 2012.

Todd Smith, 41, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Obstruction of Administration of Law or other Governmental Function, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Smith will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Smith for the offense in March of 2012.

Shane Collins, 27, Troy, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Collins will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Kevin Hibson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Collins for the offense in December of 2012.

Lauren Parks, 19, Troy, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Parks will be sentenced on March 13, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Parks for the offense in

May of 2012.

Heather Shaffer, 26, Waverly, NY, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Shaffer will be sentenced on March 13, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Bryan Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Shaffer for the offense in September of 2012.

John H. Kern, II, 19, Rome, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Corruption of Minors, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Kern will be sentenced on April 11, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kern for the offense in September 2012.

Melissa Thiel, 30, Elmira, NY, entered pleas of guilty to Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Thiel will be sentenced on April 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Sean Flynn of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Thiel for the offense in November of 2012

Joshua Uhl, 21, Sayre, PA, entered pleas of guilty to Burglary, a felony of the first degree, Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Uhl will be sentenced on April 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officers of the Sayre Borough Police Department and Trooper Joshua Thompson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Uhl for the offenses in October thru December of 2012.

Henry Johnson, 55, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty but mentally ill to Criminal Trespass, a felony of the third degree. Johnson will be sentenced on April 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Johnson for the offense in August 2012.

Kristal Hobday, 29, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Hobday will be sentenced on April 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hobday for the offense in December 2012.

Uitz will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Steven M. Brown, 19, Towanda, PA, entered pleas of guilty to Burglary, a felony of the second degree, and Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Brown will be sentenced in 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Brown for the offense in November of 2012.

Robert L. Bergey, Jr., 32, Rome, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Obstruction of Law or other Governmental Function, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Bergey will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Thad Warnick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bergey for the offense in May of 2012.

Leonard E. Watson, 35, Scranton, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Watson will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Karri Dobson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Watson for the offense in July of 2011.

Heather Wilcox, 41, Wellsboro, PA, entered pleas of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Wilcox will be sentenced on April 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Brandon Allis of the PA State Police arrested Wilcox for the offense in November of 2012.

Tyler VanHousen, 20, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Harassment, a summary offense. VanHousen will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Joshua Lake of the

Towanda Borough Police Department arrested VanHousen for the offense in November of 2012.

Kenneth Dalton, 49, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Dalton will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Dalton for the offense in July 2012.

Douglas P. Pierce, 42, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Pierce will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper John Kern of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Pierce for the offense in September of 2012.

Jonathan Butler, 35, Troy, PA, entered pleas of guilty to Aggravated Assault, a felony of the second degree, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, a misdemeanor of the second degree, Possession of a Precursor of Methamphetamine Manufacture (Liquid Ammonia), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, Theft By Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Criminal Trespass, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Butler will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Troopers Brandon

Allis and Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania state Police arrested Butler for the offenses in October and November of 2012, respectively.

Keith Johnson, 35, Ulster, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Johnson will be sentenced on April 4, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Cpl. Douglas Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Johnson for the offense in September of 2012.

Michael Labor, 22, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Attempted Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Labor will be sentenced on April 14, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Labor for the offense in February of 2013.

Daniel Heeman, 30, Dushore, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Heeman will be sentenced on April 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper David Kittle of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Heeman for the offense in January of 2013.

Shane Huffman, 23, West Virginia, entered pleas of guilty to two counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, each a misdemeanor. Huffman will be sentenced in April 2013 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer John Hennessey of the Towanda Borough Police Department and Trooper Kevin Hibson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Huffman for the respective offenses.

Howard Edger, 57, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Delivery of a Controlled Substance (oxycodone), a felony. Edger will be sentenced on April 4, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Edger for the offense in May 2012.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel Barrett announced that the following people were placed on ARD recently in the Court of Common Pleas:

Joy Marie Simons-Bayles, 39, Towanda, PA charged with the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in December 2012 by Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Simon-Bayles will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Simon-Bayles must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days.

Conner, 23, Wyalusing, PA charged with the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in September 2012 by Trooper Kevin Hibson of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Conner will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Conner must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days.

Kevin Scrivens, 30, Sayre, PA charged with the offense of Forgery, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 9 months. While on probation, Scrivens will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Conner must perform 40 hours of community service.

Andrew Floyd, Jr., 22, Towanda, PA, was resentenced following revocation of his original sentence of probation to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from four months to 12 months, and a fine of $500, for the offense of Defiant Trespass.

Joshua Chapman, 20, Waverly, NY, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from eight days to one year, and a fine of $300, for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Chapman will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months. Trooper Brandon Allis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Chapman for the offense in December of 2012.

Abby M. Boss, Ulster, PA, was resentenced following revocation of her original sentence of probation to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from nine months to 23 months, 29 days. Boss was also ordered to pay restitution of $1602.41 and fines totaling $200, for the offenses of Access device Fraud and Retail Theft. Trooper Michael Wienckoski of the Pennsylvania State Police and Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Boss for the offenses in June of 2011 and January of 2012, respectively.

Carole D. Hobday, 53, Millerton, PA, was resentenced following revocation of her original sentence of probation to probation for a term of 24 months, and a fine of $500, for the offense of Retail Theft. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Hobday for the offense in June of 2011.

Ryan J. Hunsinger, 19, Sayre, PA, was sentenced to probation for a total term of 18 months and fines totaling $300, for two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and single counts of Criminal Mischief and Harassment. Officers of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Hunsinger for the offenses in July and August of 2012.

Gerald B. Perry, 29, Rochester, NY was sentenced following criminal trial by jury to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 39 months to 60 months, and fines totaling $1,185, for the offenses of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Flight to Avoid Apprehension, and False Identification to a Law Enforcement Officer; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 months. Josephine Fredrick, 44, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty to Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Wysox man accused of selling drug

Scott Alan Yates, 47, of Wysox is accused of selling 12 Vicodin pills to another individual in the parking lot of Colonial Plaza in North Towanda Township, police said.

The incident occurred on Jan. 31, police said.

As a result of this incident, Yates has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance, Towanda police said.

Yates was arraigned on March 15 by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark. Yates was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Yates waived his preliminary hearing, which had been scheduled for March 20 in Towanda District Court.

Yates' case has therefore been transferred to Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where he is scheduled to be arraigned on April 18.

Burglary occurs in Cherry Twp.

A burglary recently occurred at John Joseph Farrell's apartment in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, police said.

Sometime between Thursday and Sunday, a burglar or burglars broke into the apartment and stole two SANYO flat-screen televisions, state police said.

Farrell's apartment is located in the Overton Apartments on Overton Road, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Laporte at (570) 946-4610.

Criminal mischief occurs in Cherry Twp.

One or more individuals damaged a gate at the entrance to a property on Connells Dam Road in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, police said.

The property belongs to Joseph Pehanick of Scranton, state police said.

During the incident, which occurred sometime between Jan. 1 and March 22, the individuals cut down two maple trees, apparently for firewood, police said.

Vandalism occurs in Asylum Twp.

Someone used a BB gun to vandalize a window of a residence at 20723 state Route 187 in Asylum Township, police said.

The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on March 11 and noon on March 12, state police at Towanda said.

Accident occurs in N. Towanda

No one was injured in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of James Street and U.S. Route 6 in North Towanda Township, police said.

The accident occurred as 20-year-old Dustin M. Goodenow of Towanda was making a left-hand turn onto Route 6 East from James Street and Robert L. Bahr of Monroeton was driving west on Route 6, police said.

Goodenow's vehicle pulled out in front of Bahr's vehicle, police said.

The accident occurred at 7:37 a.m. on March 14, state police at Towanda said.

Goodenow was cited for "vehicles entering or crossing," police said.

DUI charges

The following person was recently charged with driving under the influence in Bradford County:

Kent William Reynolds, 46, of Plainfield, Conn., by the Towanda police, on March 15, on Main Street in Towanda. Reynolds was arraigned by Troy Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox and then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. Reynolds' preliminary hearing, which was scheduled to take place on March 20 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to April 17.

Rome man charged for egging house

Codey Lee Brown, 20, of Rome has been charged by state police with disorderly conduct relating to a Feb. 27 incident on Battlecreek Road in Rome Township. According to police, Brown threw eggs at a residence.

 

Man shoots dog

Michael Vevetoe, 35, has been charged with recklessly endangering another person and cruelty to animals stemming from a March 23 incident on the 3100 block of Board Road in Tuscarora Township.

According to police, Vevetoe got involved in a verbal argument with a female who lived with him. The female then left the house to walk her dog. Shortly after, Vevetoe went outside and fatally shot the dog three or four times with a rifle, police said.

 

Arrest prior to requisition

Michael Harrington, 31, of Warren Center has been charged with arrest prior to requisition for having an active arrest warrant from Tioga County, New York. At the time charges were filled, Harrington was located at the Bradford County Correctional Facility.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - Frank Chartier, 44, of 1046 W. Arch St., Coal Township, was cited by Cpl. Bryan Primerano for retail theft for allegedly stealing a pair of underwear and two orange drinks from the Dollar General store on East Independence Street around 5:30 p.m. March 14.

Teen cited

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Scott Weaver has cited a 16-year-old city male for disorderly conduct for violating a city ordinance by allegedly instigating a fight with a 15-year-old Shamokin boy at 2:20 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Marshall Street.

Theft charges

SHAMOKIN - Megan Corbacio, 23, of 1520 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Jarrod Scandle with theft, receiving stolen property and access device fraud relating to a Feb. 25 incident at 804 N. Washington St., Apt. 1.

Police said Corbacio is accused of stealing Jackie Rupert's child support card and using it to purchase $101.06 worth of merchandise at Wal-Mart Supercenter in Coal Township.

Paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Jarrod Scandle charged Nathan P. Leonard, 40, of 219 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, with possession of drug paraphernalia involving a March 17 incident at his residence.

Police reported Leonard, who overdosed on heroin, was in possession of a syringe lid and a small piece of cotton. Leonard underwent treatment in the emergency room at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Parts stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - David Erdman, 40, and Valarie Dressler, 35, both of 334 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, were charged by Patrolman Edward Purcell with theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said Erdman and Dressler removed heavy machinery parts owned by Ken Snyder from the Big Mountain area March 14 and sold them for scrap at Jeff's Recycling.

Rear-end collision

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a rear-end collision involving a dump truck at the traffic light near the former Ames building Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. The front-right portion of a Waste Management truck struck the rear-left of a utility truck. No other information was available.

Trail camera stolen

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington are investigating the theft of a trail camera owned by Jeremy Wayne Cooper, 40, of North Front Street, Sunbury.

Police said the camera was stolen from the area of 277 Plum Creek Road at 5:30 p.m. March 20.

The thief fled the scene on foot toward Route 890.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call state police at 286-5601.

Drug paraphernalia

ELYSBURG - Cory Daniel Hine, 21, of 2103 Airport Road, Elysburg, was charged by Ralpho Township Cpl. Bryon Chowka with possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a Feb. 15 incident at Helfrick's Grove along Quarry Road.

Police said Hine possessed two mechanic sockets containing burnt marijuana residue.

DUI, drug offenses

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Two Mount Carmel residents have been charged in connection with a March 9 vehicle stop along Route 61 near Transtar in Strong.

Kelly S. Reigle, 40, of 128 S. Market St., was charged by Patrolman Kelly Campbell with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol and a drug, operating a vehicle without proper inspection, a lighting violation and failure to drive in a single lane.

Matthew Steven Dietz, 22, of 123 E. Cherry St., a passenger in Reigle's vehicle, was charged by Campbell with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bad checks

MOUNT CARMEL - Mary Ellen Vincenzes, 51, of 138 S. Oak St., Apt. 2-A, was charged by Patrolman Kevin Katch with two counts each of theft by deception and bad checks.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Vincenzes is accused of issuing three bad checks totaling $490 to Matlow's Clothing Store on South Oak Street on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6.

Theft charges

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of Oxycontin have been filed by Patrolman Matthew Filarski against Cassie Nichole Beers, 19, of New Columbia.

Police reported Beers stole approximately 20 Oxycontin pills belonging to Randy Swavely from his residence at 819 W. Sixth St. on Tuesday morning.

Recklessly endangering

COAL TOWNSHIP - A Ranshaw man has been charged with preventing people from stopping an assault outside Brady Fire Company in October that resulted in serious injuries to the victim.

Jack Zimmerman, 39, of 537 Main St., is charged by Patrolman Joshua Wynn with misdemeanors of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct. The offenses relate to a disturbance in which Richard "Ricky" J. Madden, 27, of 1000 W. Willow St., Coal Township, was charged with repeatedly punching and kicking Dale Wilk Jr., 31, of 2004 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, and slamming his head off the ground outside Brady Fire Company at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 20.

Wilk suffered bruises and scrapes on his head and face in the attack and required emergency room treatment.

The victim told police he has "blacked out" since the assault and continues to consult with a doctor.

Zimmerman is accused of blocking a doorway at the fire company, which prevented people from stopping the assault. Police said Zimmerman, who refused to move from the doorway, stated that Wilk deserved getting assaulted.

Towanda area man charged with disorderly conduct

Rodney T. Russell, 49, of Towanda RR1 was recently charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness, police said.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred at 1:45 p.m. on March 18 in which Russell entered the Daily Review offices at 116 Main St., Towanda and caused a disturbance there, police said.

At the time, Russell was not allowed on the property, Towanda police said.

During the incident, Russell screamed at his wife, Kelly Russell, who is a Daily Review employee, police said. Rodney Russell failed to leave the building after being told to do so by Daily Review employees, police said.

Woman faces felony charges after squatting in Towanda Twp. home

George Dunn, 29, moved her family into a vacant residence in Towanda Township that was posted for sale, and she and her family were there for approximately one week before they were discovered by a Realtor, police said.

The family was discovered in the residence on Saturday, state police at Towanda said.

Dunn told police that her family was kicked out of their other residence and had no place to live, according to the state police at Towanda.

As a result of this incident, Dunn has been charged with illegally entering a residence when no one is home, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief, police said.

Dunn was arraigned on Saturday by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark. Dunn was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Dunn must attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Clark on April 3.

According to the state police and a court document, Dunn is female. State police said they have no address for Dunn.

Towanda man charged with possession of weapon in courthouse

Arthur Lloyd Barrett, 46, of Towanda was recently found to be in possession of a pocketknife and a syringe while inside the Bradford County Courthouse, according to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

The pocketknife was in his pants pocket, and the syringe was in his left boot, according to Deputy Sheriff Donald Stringham.

The incident at approximately 12:05 p.m. on March 14 when Barrett was being transported to jail on a judge's order from another case, according to Stringham.

As a result of the March 14 incident, Barrett has been charged with possession of a weapon in a court facility and possession of drug paraphernalia, Stringham said.

Man charged with theft

A Sayre man was recently charged with six counts of theft by unlawful taking by Athens Township police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Thomas G. Manning Jr., 40, was also charged with six counts of receiving stolen property and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said Manning removed tools and construction equipment from a Wildwood Road house he was working on between January and April 2012 that had been damaged in the 2011 flood. The items stolen were valued at $1,247.27, police said.

A search of Manning turned up a pipe used to smoke marijuana, police said.

Manning's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.

Woman arrested on warrant

A Phelps, N.Y. woman was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a warrant.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Julien S. Jenkins, 24, was found to have an active warrant for endangering the welfare of a child after she was detained by the Cortland County Sheriff's Office.

Jenkins was arraigned in Barton town court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail without bail.

Man arrested following hit-and-run

A Barton, N.Y. man was recently arrested by Waverly village police following investigation into a March 19 hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.

According to information from village police, Justin L. Mack, 35, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Police said Mack was also apprehended on a warrant for a bad check charge.

Police said a vehicle operated by Mack struck a parked truck at about 11:30 a.m. March 19 on Providence Street, causing heavy front-end damage to the truck. Police said Mack then fled the scene and failed to report the accident to police or the truck's owner.

Mack was arraigned in village court and sent to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of bail, police said.

Waverly police charge several following traffic stops

The following people were recently charged by Waverly village police following vehicle stops, according to information from the Waverly Police Department:

Jonathan L. Williams, 29, of Elmira, N.Y., on March 22, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and driving without insurance.

Joseph R. Robinson, 22, of Barton, N.Y., on March 22, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving a vehicle with a suspended registration.

Michael R. Mayer, 21, of Van Etten, N.Y., on March 23, with driving a vehicle with an inadequate muffler and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Mark A. Shipman, 42, address not provided, on March 23, with driving a vehicle with a suspended registration.

Matthew G. Chapman, 27, of Waverly, on March 24, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Waverly man incarcerated

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Sayre borough police on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Quentin A. Simonds, 33, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Police said Simonds was found passed out in the front yard of a North Higgins Avenue residence. Police said a search of Simonds turned up 102.8 grams of a substance that field tested positive for marijuana as well as multiple baggies and a digital scale.

Simonds was arraigned March 24 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. Simonds' preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2.

Woman charged with lewdness

Athens Borough police recently arrested a woman on a charge of open lewdness.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Rebecca Ann Knickerbocker, 40, last known to live in Barton, N.Y., was also charged with obstruction of highways and public drunkenness.

Police said Knickerbocker urinated in public and stood in the middle of Susquehanna Street flagging vehicles down in traffic at about 3:25 p.m. March 25.

Knickerbocker was arraigned March 25 by Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. Knickerbocker's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2.

Seven cited for underage drinking

Sayre borough police recently cited seven males with one count of underage purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of alcohol.

According to information from borough police, officers cited Justin T. Mayo, 18, of Athens; Christopher Jon Raupers, 18, of Waverly; Ryan Thomas Mayo, 20, of Waverly; Samuel Kolesnik IV, 18, of Waverly; Bernard Cody Ketter, 18, of Athens; Derek Bowman, 19, of Lockwood, N.Y.; and Dylan Gutierrez, 18, of Waverly.

Police said officers discovered the group of males at about 2:45 a.m. March 8 at the Dandy Mini Mart on Spring Street while investigating a separate incident. Each of the males were all determined to be under the influence of alcohol to varying degrees, police said.

The charges were filed in Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office, police said.

Man charged in vehicle break-ins

Sayre borough police recently charged a Sayre man with three counts of theft from a motor vehicle following reported vehicle thefts in the borough in November.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Todd A. Belles, 23, was also charged with receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

Police said Belles and a female accomplice removed a credit card, purse, gift certificate and about $1,000 in cash from three vehicles Nov. 22. Police said Belles also broke the rear window of one vehicle and the passenger side window of another to gain access to the vehicles.

The vehicles were located on Hemlock and Larch roads and Linden Street, police said.

Belles' preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.

Window broken with air rifle

State police report that on March 17 at 9 p.m. an unknown person vandalized a home located at 207 N. Orwell Rd. in Rome Township.

According to police, the person broke a window at the residence with a BB gun before fleeing the scene.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Brandon Michael Scarberry, 24, of Ripley, W.Va., by the state police, on March 10 on U.S. Route 220 in Ulster Township. A blood test revealed that on the day of Scarberry's arrest, his blood alcohol content was .172 percent.

Gordon Lathroppe Bull, 43, of Towanda, by the Towanda police, on March 3, on Main Street in Towanda Borough.

Charles Bristen Raupers, 22, of Towanda, by Athens Township police, on March 8, at Wolcott Hollow Road and Route 220 in Athens Township. Raupers has also been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Raupers' blood alcohol content was .21 percent on the day of his arrest. Raupers has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw April 16 for a preliminary hearing.

Michael Vetetoe, 35, of Wyalusing, by state police, on March 23, on State Route 267 in Rush Township, Susquehanna County. Vetetoe had an odor of alcohol on his breath and after further testing it appeared he was under the influence of alcohol, police said. Vetetoe was arrested and transported to Memorial Hospital in Towanda for a blood test. Police are awaiting the test results.

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Tioga County, N.Y.:

Chad M. Wandell, 36, of Waverly, by county sheriff's deputies, on March 24, on state Route 17C in Barton. Wandell has also been charged with speeding and operating an uninspected motor vehicle. Wandell was issued tickets to appear April 2 in Barton town court.
