District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following people recently entered pleas of guilty in the Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:
Jennifer Perry, 27, Troy, Pa, entered pleas of guilty to two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, each a misdemeanor. Perry will be sentenced on January 17, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing Perry faces a maximum total sentence of up to two years plus fine(s), costs, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court.
John J. Brown, 25, Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Escape, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Brown will be sentenced in January 2013 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Brown faces a maximum sentence of up to two years plus fine(s), costs, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:
Christopher Boyer, 39, Nichols, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 15 days to six months, and a fine of $500.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Boyer will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Boyer for the offense in October 2011.
Gary Bennett, 42, Sayre, Pa., was resentenced, following revocation of his original sentence of probation, to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from three months to 12 months, and a fine of $300.00. Bennett's original sentence was imposed following a guilty plea to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Bennett for the offense in February 2011.
Ryan Dye, 29, Gillett, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 24 months to 48 months, and a fine of $500.00, for the offense of Failure to Comply with Sexual Offender Registration, a felony of the second degree. Corporal Albert Ogden of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Dye for the offense in May 2012.
Wayne Sitzer, 33, Lockwood, N.Y., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from seven months to 30 months, and fines totaling $2000, for the offenses of Receiving Stolen Property and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, each a misdemeanor of the first degree. Sitzer will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 18 months as a result of his DUI conviction and for an additional 12 months for refusing to submit to blood testing at the time of his arrest. Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Sitzer for the offense in May 2012.
Colleen Brassfield, Towanda, Pa, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 85 days to 18 months for the offense of Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Brassfield was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1740.00 and a fine of $500.00. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brassfield for the offense in November 2011 after an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.
Amber DeSisti, 22, Athens, Pa, was resentenced, following revocation of her original sentence of probation, to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 60 days to 18 months, and a fine of $500.00, for the offense of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested DeSisti for the offense in on October 2011.
Jamie Castleman, 37, Clarksville, Ark., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 90 days to 18 months for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Castleman was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1058.16 and a fine of $1500.00. Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Castleman for the offense in June 2012 after an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.
James Winterringer, 23, Towanda, Pa., was resentenced, following a revocation of his original sentence of probation, to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five days to 12 months, and a fine of $300.00, for the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Winterringer for the offense in July 2011 after an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.
Edward Adam, 22, Gillett, Pa., was resentenced, following revocation of his original sentence of probation, to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from eight months to 23 months, 29 days, for the offenses of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, a felony of the third degree, and Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Adam was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1393.14 and a fine of $80.00, and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department and Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Adams for the offenses in December 2008 and January 2009, respectively, after incidents that occurred in Athens and Ridgebury Townships.
Shane Bennici, 28, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 14 days to 18 months, and a fine of $900.00, for the offenses of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, each a misdemeanor. Bennici will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bennici for the offenses in August 2012 after an incident that occurred in Sheshequin Township.
Amanda Fassett, 22, Forkston, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 85 days to 12 months for the offense of Forgery, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Fassett was also ordered to pay restitution in the total amount of $573.34 and a fine of $250.00. Trooper George Layou of the Pennsylvania State arrested Fassett for the offense in September 2011 after an incident that occurred in Rome Borough.

Gavin Roberts, 23, Pittsfield, Mass., charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in July 2012 by Trooper Brandon Allis of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Roberts will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Roberts must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30
Marcella Moretz, 48, Troy, Pa., charged with Theft in August 2012 by Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police Department, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation, Moretz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department and she will be required to perform 30 hours of community service.
Penny Masters, 43, New Albany, Pa., charged with Access Device Fraud in April 2012 by Trooper Michael Trebendis of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Masters will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Masters must perform 40 hours of community service and pay restitution in the amount of $2000.00.

Nikki Putnam, 28, Troy, Pa., charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in August 2012 by Officer Steven Vanderpool of the Canton Borough Police Department, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Putnam will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Putnam must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days.

While on probation, Vanderpool will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Bradford County District Attorney, Daniel J. Barrett, announced that the following persons were recently found in contempt of court and sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:
Jeremiah Ballard, 26, New Albany, Pa., was ordered by Judge Jeffrey A. Smith of the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas to be confined in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 10 days for refusing to stand before the court as directed. Ballard remained in confinement from 29 October until 1 November 2012 at which time Judge Smith commuted the remainder of Ballard's 10 day sentence.
Lewis Brassington, 34, New Albany, Pa., was ordered by Judge Jeffrey A. Smith of the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas to be confined in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 10 days for refusing to stand before the court as ordered. Brassington remained in confinement from 29 October until 1 November 2012 at which time Judge Smith commuted the remainder of Brassington's 10 day sentence.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following person was convicted following criminal trial by jury in the Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pennsylvania:
Russell Lattimer, 58, was convicted of Rape, Sexual Assault, Statutory Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault, and Tampering with Witnesses, by a Bradford County jury after criminal trial before Judge Jeffrey A. Smith on 15 November 2012. Lattimer will be sentenced in February 2013 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department and completion of a sexual offender evaluation by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Assessment Board. Trooper Mark Keyes of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lattimer in June 2012 after an investigation that began in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
