Crime of the Week

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to solve a series of break-ins.

Since Oct. 16, 2012, Chesterfield officers have responded to numerous calls reporting break-ins to sheds and cars in the Chester area. The majority of these break-ins have occurred in the Walthall Creek and South Creek subdivisions and at homes along Woods Edge Road. The items stolen have included lawn care tools, gasoline cans, cell phones and even a laptop computer. Also, a Ruger P3 handgun was stolen from one car on Riggers Station Drive.

The following information was provided by the Hopewell Police Department.

-Assault-Aggravated: At 4:29 a.m., Jan. 30, police responded to the 1500 blk of Piper Square Drive for a reported suspicious circumstance. Known offender assaulted victim during argument and was later arrested.

- Burglary/Breaking And Entering/Residential: At 11:15 a.m., Jan. 31, police responded to the 3200 blk of Virginia Street in regards to an alarm. Unknown offender entered residence by kicking rear door and stole firearm, ammunition, game system, electronics and jewelry.

- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 5:30 a.m., Jan. 28, police responded to the 3900 blk of Eagle Drive for a reported suspicious vehicle. two subjects were in the vehicle and marijuana was found inside the vehicle.

- Larceny/Theft Of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories: At 8 p.m., Feb. 3, police were notified of a larceny in the 00 block of S 8th Street.Unknown offender stole license plates from vehicle.

- Larceny-Shoplifting: At 2:40 p.m., Feb. 1, police were dispatched to the area of Cavalier Square for a reported shoplifting. Known Offender Stole Shoes From Business And Was Arrested.

-Larceny-Theft From Building: At 11:30 a.m., Feb. 1, police responded to the 1500 blk of Piper Square Dr ive for a reported larceny. Known offenders stole tv and game system from residence.

Impersonation charge

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal impersonation.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Robert Dawson, 39, was arrested Feb. 1 following the issuing of a warrant for his arrest out of Town of Barton court.

Dawson was arraigned in Town of Barton Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond. Dawson is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 5.

Waverly man arrested

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Shawn M. Fenton, 33, was charged following investigation into a suspicious condition at Fenton's residence on State Route 17C. Fenton was issued a ticket to appear in Town of Barton court Feb. 12.

Theft charge

A Wysox woman was recently charged with retail theft by Athens Township police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Brenda Jo Johnson, 54, and a 16-year-old juvenile female attempted to remove 11 clothing items valued at $126.82 from the Walmart on Elmira Street.

Johnson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 5.

Towanda man faces theft charge

David Northrup, 49, of Towanda is accused of taking items from the Tops supermarket in Wysox Township without paying for them, police said.

As a result, a theft charge has been filed against Northrup in district court, police said.

The incident occurred on Nov. 27, state police at Towanda said in a press release that they issued this week.

Theft occurs in Wysox Twp.

Someone stole $45 from a 36-year-old woman's unlocked vehicle when it was parked at the Eagle's Nest electronics business in Wysox Township, police said.

The theft occurred between 10:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Jan. 19, state police at Towanda said.

Man charged in fraud case

A Rochester, N.Y., man has been charged in a fraud case whose victim was a 43-year-old Monroeton man, police said.

The Monroeton resident responded to an Ebay posting for an ATV, wiring $9,300 to someone in New York state, police said. The Ebay posting was a fraudulent Ebay posting, state police said.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 30-year-old Octavian Kucera of Rochester, N.Y., who has been charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception in connection with this case, police said.

The incident occurred between June 20 and June 29, state police at Towanda said.

Two men charged in gun theft

Between March 1 and Jan. 23, Caleb Lynn Vanderpool of Towanda Township stole over a dozen guns from his father, Tracy Vanderpool, police said.

Caleb Vanderpool then sold the guns to 48-year-old Angelo Johnson of Towanda, police said.

Caleb Vanderpool, 22, has been charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, police said.

Johnson has been charged with receiving stolen property, state police at Towanda said.

Johnson told the police that he did not know the guns were stolen when he bought them, according to the state police at Towanda.

Caleb Vanderpool and Johnson were both arraigned before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Wednesday.

Caleb Vanderpool was released on non-monetary bail. Johnson was sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.

Caleb Vanderpool and Johnson must attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Clark on Wednesday.

Citation issued to tavern

The Birch Creek Tavern & Restaurant in Mildred, Sullivan County, was cited on Jan. 31 for selling alcohol to visibly intoxicated people, state police said.

The incident occurred on Dec. 29, according to the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

Waverly man charged with disorderly conduct

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Sayre police and charged with three counts of disorderly conduct.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Joshua Max Chapman, 20, was also charged with one count each of making a false report, consumption of an alcoholic beverage by a minor and public drunkenness.

Police said Chapman yelled, screamed obscenities and kicked a vehicle Feb. 6 at the Dandy Mini Mart on North Keystone Avenue. A preliminary breath test came back positive for the presence of alcohol in Chapman's system, police said.

According to police, Chapman told officers he needed to leave because his child was home alone at a Waverly location, prompting officers to request that Waverly police respond to the residence. No child was found to be at the residence, police said.

Chapman was arraigned Feb. 7 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail. Chapman's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 12.

Deneesha Lasham Reyes is wanted for failing to appear in court on a credit card theft charge. Reyes is a 29-year-old, 5 feet, 5 inch tall, 160 pound black female with brown eyes and black hair.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently entered pleas of guilty and were sentenced in Bradford County Magisterial District Courts:

Michael Steele, 23, Waverly, NY, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Loitering and Prowling at Night Time, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 30 days and payment of court costs. Officer Eric Keir of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Steele for the offense in October 2012.

Randy Bergman, 45, no permanent address, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Harassment, a summary violation, and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of six days and payment of court costs. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Bergman for the offense in January 2013.

Kyle Simpson, 22, Waverly, NY, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Retail Theft, a summary violation, and was sentenced to pay a fine of $150; Simpson was also ordered to pay restitution the amount of $233.42 and court costs. Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Simpson for the offense in December 2012.

Marty Jo Stroud, 38, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and was sentenced to pay restitution in the amount of $1,000.00 and court costs. Trooper George Layaou of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Stroud for the offense in October 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township.

Daniel Berger, 48, Lake Ariel, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to two counts of Harassment, each a summary offense, and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 90 days and payment of court costs. Trooper Jeffrey Sredenschek of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Berger for the offense in 2011 following investigation of an incident that occurred in South Creek Township.

Tonya Cummings, 43, Troy, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Criminal Trespass, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term 27 days; she was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $150 and court costs. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Cummings for the offense in August 2012 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Armenia Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Floyd Douglas, 41, Towanda, PA, was sentenced to probation for a term of 36 months, and fines totaling $150, for two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana), each a felony. Douglas was also ordered to reimburse the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of $500.00 for money used to purchase a controlled substance during the incident that lead to his arrest, and he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Douglas for the offenses in September and October 2010 after incidents that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Christopher Goshorn, 33, Towanda, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 18 days to six months, probation for a term of 18 months, and fines totaling $700, for the offenses of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor; Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree; and Harassment, a summary offense. Goshorn will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Goshorn for the offense in September 2012.

Justin Barrowchiff, 24, Towanda, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 10 days to one year, and a fine of $1,500, for two counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, each a misdemeanor. Barrowcliff will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 24 months. Troopers David Pelachick and Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Barrowcliff for the offenses in July and September 2012, respectively, after incidents that occurred in Burlington Township and Towanda Borough.

Matthew Schwartz, 31, Athens, PA, was resentenced, following revocation of his original sentence of probation for violation of probation conditions, to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from three months to 12 months, and a fine of $250, for the offense of Theft By Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Schwartz for the offense in May 2011.

Geoffrey Groover, 29, Ulster, PA, was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from one year to five years for the offenses of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Groover will also lose his Pennsylvania Driving Privilege for 30 months. Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Groover for the offenses in August 2012 following an incident that occurred in Burlington Township.

Richard Straub, 24, Sayre, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 23 months, and a fine of $150, for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Eric Keir of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Straub for the offense in May 2012.

Justin Walter, 23, Sayre, PA was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from one year to four years for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper

Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Walter for the offense in April 2012 following an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Borough.

Aaron Vanderpool, 30, Wysox, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 23 months, and a fine of $150, for the offense of Theft By Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vanderpool for the offense in July 2011 after an incident that occurred in Wells Township.

Eric Williams, 33, Canton, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months, and a fine of $750, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Williams will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Trooper Craig Flynn of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Williams for the offense in November 2011 after an incident that occurred in Franklin Township.

Arson charges pending

PACKER ISLAND - Arson-related charges are pending against a 46-year-old Sunbury woman who allegedly set a table cloth on fire at 256 Corcyra Road at noon Sunday.

State police at Stonington reported the fire was quickly extinguished by a support staff member who was at the home with the suspect.

Simple assault

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported someone punched Timothy David Lubold, 45, of 1136 Mandata Road, Herndon, in the face at the Sunoco Station at the intersection of Routes 147 and 225 at 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

Police said Lubold suffered minor injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call state police at 286-5601.

Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61.

Police reported Jessica Shelbert, 23, of Shamokin, was unloading her shopping cart when a blue Dodge Ram truck backed up and hit her, causing a foot injury.

Shelbert was transported by a family member to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where she was treated in the emergency room before being released.

Anyone with information about the accident is urged to call Coal Township police at 644-0333.

Crash

NATALIE - A patch of ice caused a Kulpmont man to crash his vehicle Monday morning on westbound Route 54 in Mount Carmel Township.

Trooper Todd Leiby, state police at Stonington, said Harry N. Weaver, 44, was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger downhill on Natalie Mountain at 7:05 a.m. when he struck the ice patch, causing him to lose control, slide off the roadway and crash into a guide rail.

Weaver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, the trooper said.

He was cited for failing to drive in his lane of travel.

Harassment

DERRY TOWNSHIP - Michael J. Martz, 39, of Danville, was cited for harassment by state police at Milton following an incident at 41 Blue Springs Terrace, Derry Township, at 10:22 p.m. Saturday.

Police say that Martz and Joshua Green, 20, of Hughesville, engaged in an argument, during which time Martz allegedly pushed Green into the side of a vehicle. The citation was filed with Magisterial District Judge Marvin K. Shrawder, of Danville.

Items stolen from vehicle

WEST CHILLISQUAQUE TOWNSHIP - State police at Milton reported someone entered an unlocked 1997 Chevy Lumina owned by Robert Lee Merrill, 26, of Montandon, and stole an MP3 player, $20 from the victim's wallet and his key chain containing approximately 15 keys that was left in the vehicle's ignition.

Police said the theft occurred between 10 p.m. Monday and 4:55 a.m. Tuesday at 174 Atlantic Avenue in the Modern Way Trailer Court.

Car hits pole, tree

COAL TOWNSHIP - Lori Kaminski, 47, of 1240 Poplar St., escaped injury Sunday night when she swerved her 1997 Toyota to avoid striking a deer on Route 61 near the Plumbing Outlet, causing her auto to exit the highway and strike a utility pole and tree.

Coal Township police reported Kaminski was traveling north at 7:39 p.m. when she swerved her vehicle to avoid striking a deer. Kaminski's car then rolled over and struck a utility pole while it was in the process of coming back onto its four tires. The car then spun 360 degrees and hit a tree before coming to rest.

Kaminski was wearing a seat belt, police said.

Her vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Jeff's Towing.

Criminal mischief

ARISTES - Eugene Coolbaugh, 42, of Lost Creek, reported to state police at Bloomsburg that at 8:19 p.m. Monday, someone threw rocks at his 2005 Kia Spectra, while it was parked on Route 42, near Route 3006 in Aristes.

Police report the driver's side window and hood was damaged, with police estimating the amount of damage at $700.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact state police at 387-4261.

DUI

KELLY TOWNSHIP - Ronald Herman Dunkle Jr., 44, of Sunbury, was charged by state police at Milton with driving under the influence of alcohol and several traffic violations relating to a vehicle stop shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Route 15 and Ziegler Road in this Union County township.

Wysox man accused of PFA violation

Joseph Leighton, 28, of Wysox is accused of violating a PFA order by having direct contact with a 24-year-old woman, police said.

The incident occurred on Jan. 20 at a location in Wysox Township, police said.

As a result of this incident, Leighton has been charged with indirect criminal contempt, state police at Towanda said.

Man accused of assault in Towanda Twp.

Summer Ann Benjamin of Towanda Township has accused 39-year-old Kyle Lamont Middleton of punching her in the eye during a dispute over who would take care of their daughter, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 at a location along Railroad Street in Towanda Township, police said.

As a result of this incident, Middleton has been charged with simple assault and harassment, state police at Towanda said.

Middleton, who lives in Jermyn, Pa., was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Feb. 7. He was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Middleton must appear before Judge Clark for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving under the influence in Bradford County:

- Charles R. Kenyon, 56, of Towanda, by the Towanda police, on Jan. 11, in the parking lot behind Finlan's Tavern in Towanda. A test revealed that the amount of alcohol in Kenyon's blood on the day of his arrest was .128 percent.

- James Aaron Allison, 28, of Chloe, W.Va., by the Towanda police, on Jan. 20, on York Avenue in Towanda. A test revealed that the amount of alcohol in Allison's blood on the day of his arrest was .178 percent.

Rifle taken

State police at Towanda said some items belonging to a 26-year-old Canton man were taken in a burglary sometime between 12:01 a.m. Jan. 25 and 2 p.m. Feb. 1 at a residence on Route 414 in Leroy Township.

Trooper George W. Layaou reported that someone gained access to the residence by kicking/smashing open a rear basement entry door on the northwestern side, and stole a blued steel/synthetic stock Winchester .243 caliber Model 70 Bolt Action WSSM rifle with a Nikon scope from under a bed in a second-floor bedroom and a Play Station and XBOX game system and numerous game discs from the living room area, and fled with the stolen property.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Man charged

State police at Towanda said that Eugene Grissom, 66, of Granville Summit, was charged for a violation of a Protection from Abuse order for an incident that took place at 11:32 a.m. Feb. 7 on Evans Road in Granville Township.

Trooper George W. Layaou said the victim was a 51-year-old Granville Summit woman, and Grissom made contact with her via telephone, violating an active PFA order.

No injuries

State police at Mansfield said Tracy Hojnowski, 47, of Canton, wasn't injured in a one-vehicle accident at 4:10 p.m. Feb. 8 on Route 14, about one mile west of Taylor Road, in Canton Township.

Trooper William Hoppel said that the crash occurred as she was traveling east and lost control of her Ford Focus, which slid into a ditch on the north side of the road, spun in a counterclockwise direction and came to rest in the ditch.

Towanda man charged with possession of synthetic marijuana

John Anthony Diaz, 26, of Towanda is accused of having a package mailed to his residence that contained synthetic marijuana, police said.

Inside the package was a black and red bag labeled "7H hydro aromatic potpourri, 15 grams, not for human consumption," police said.

State police at Towanda said they investigated the incident on Dec. 15.

Diaz told the police that he did not know that it was illegal to possess synthetic marijuana in Pennsylvania.

As a result of this incident, Diaz has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Diaz has been sent a summons which orders him to appear for a preliminary hearing on March 27 in Towanda District Court.

Towanda couple accused of selling drugs

Steven Thomas Nemeth and Cynthia Hammell, both of Towanda, are accused of with selling Vicodin and Oxycontin tablets on three occasions in 2012, police said.

On the three occasions, the pair sold a total of twenty 10-milligram tablets of Vicodin and seventeen 15-milligram tablets of Oxycontin, police said.

The sales occurred on April 18, April 30, and May 18 at a location along Main Street in downtown Towanda, state police said.

Hammell is Nemeth's girlfriend, police said.

Nemeth, 43, was charged with criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, police said.

Hammell, 39, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, police said.

Nemeth and Hammell were arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Monday.

Nemeth and Hammell were then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Nemeth and Hammell must attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Clark on Feb. 20.

Unsolved burglary cases end in charges

Michael Briegel, 19, of Dushore and a 17-year-old juvenile have been charged by state police with three counts each of burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, and two counts of criminal mischief.

According to police, the charges stem from three incidents which occurred between Sept. 21 and Jan. 31.

One burglary occurred at French Creek Rd. in Albany Twp, another at the New Albany Elementary School in New Albany Borough, and another on Wyalusing New Albany Rd. in Terry Twp.

The items stolen from the farm on French Creek Rd. and the school in New Albany were sold as scrap metal.

Harassment charges

Howard Freeman, 53, of New Albany has been charged by state police with three counts of harassment relating to Feb. 9 and Feb. 10 incidents in New Albany Borough.

On Feb. 9, police say Freeman went to the residence of a 31-year-old female from New Albany and, while intoxicated, pushed her and started a dispute.

According to police, Freeman showed up at the same residence the next day and struck a 23-year-old female and 19-year-old male in the face.

Burglary reported

Ryker Jordan Packard, 19, of Towanda is facing charges related to burglary for stealing items from 227 2nd Street in Wyalusing Borough on Jan. 30.

According to police, Packard was renting an apartment from a 72-year-old female from Allentown and when he moved out, took items from his apartment and the apartment next door.

Woman charged with theft

Kristen Maryha Kinner, 23, of Wyalusing is charged with receiving stolen property and theft relating to a Feb. 10 incident at 360 Riverside Dr. Wyalusing Borough.

According to police, Kinner stole an I-Tablet worth $250 from a 35-year-old male from Wyalusing.

After the victim confronted Kinner, police said she returned the I-Tablet to him.

Troy area man accused of stealing vehicle

Dereck Chad Baldwin, 34, of Troy RR2, is accused of illegally taking a 1995 Jeep Cherokee in Towanda, police said.

The vehicle belongs to a John Passeri, police said.

The theft occurred at the Dandy Mini Mart in Towanda on the evening of Feb. 6, Towanda police said.

Baldwin has been charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of a vehicle, police said.

Baldwin was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Feb. 8. Baldwin was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, police said.

Towanda man charged with resisting arrest

Jon-Luc Ethan Packard, 21, of Towanda created a disturbance after he was evicted from his residence, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. Tuesday along U.S. Route 6 in Burlington Township, state police said.

As a result of this incident, Packard was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, police said.

Packard was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge on Feb. 12.

Packard was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Packard must attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Clark on Feb. 20.

Ulster woman faces drug charge

Karen Elaine Stevens, 29, of Ulster is accused of providing bath salts to a male in Ulster Township.

State police said they were called to the male's residence at approximately 2 p.m. on Jan. 15, because he was reported to be unconscious after taking the bath salts.

When police arrived at the male's residence, he was in "medical distress" due to an apparent adverse reaction to the drug, police said. The male was taken to Robert Packer Hospital for treatment, police said.

Stevens was charged with delivery, or possession with intent to deliver bath salts, police said.

Stevens was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Tuesday. Stevens was then released on non-monetary bail.

Stevens must attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Clark on Feb. 20.

Criminal mischief

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Randall F. Ulrich, of 1383 Mile Post Road, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, someone drove a vehicle onto the dirt and grass at his home.

Vehicle stolen, returned

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - Carol Wiles, 73, of 604 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, told state police at Stonington she noticed early Wednesday morning her 1997 Chevrolet conversion van was missing from her home's driveway. The van was returned at approximately 5:10 a.m.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call state police at 286-5601.

One vehicle crash

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a one-car crash at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday on Route 61, near Carol Road.

State police at Stonington report a 2002 Saab 2.3T sedan, driven by Justin McAllister, 34, of 102 E. Third Ave., Sunbury, was traveling south on Route 61 when the driver lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. The Saab left the road, crossed both lanes of travel and struck a utility pole, coming to rest in a residential driveway.

Tires stolen

SELINSGROVE - State police at Selinsgrove report someone removed five used tires from the Selinsgrove Ford dealership, 10 N. Susquehanna Trail, at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Hit-and-run crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police continue to investigate a hit-and-run accident sometime between 4:15 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday on Arch Street.

Diane Kerstetter, 66, of Coal Township, told police someone struck her 2007 Jeep Cherokee while it was parked on the eastbound shoulder of Arch Street. The impact caused moderate damage to the Jeep's driver side bumper and fender and pushed the vehicle against the curb.

Criminal mischief

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Leah M. Snyder, 22, of Northumberland, told state police at Selinsgrove someone scratched her vehicle and placed garbage in the door handles and under the windshield wipers while it was parked at the Susquehanna Valley Mall between 3 and 4:20 p.m. Wednesday.
