The following information was provided by the Chesterfield County Police Department.

- An animal case-maltreatment of/cruelty to animal was reported at 11:18 p.m. April 6 in the 6800 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy.

- An assault felonious-with hands, fists, feet, etc was reported at 9:30 p.m. April 5 in the 15800 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy.

- An assault simple-domestic was reported at 6:15 p.m. April 5 in the 3000 block of Cogbill Road.

- An assault simple-domestic was reported at 5:30 p.m. April 4 in the 2300 block of Aspen Ave.

- An assault simple-domestic was reported at 12:50 a.m. April 6 in the 6400 block of Trailview Circle.

- An assault simple-domestic was reported at 1 p.m. April 7 in the 12700 block of Ellenbrook Place.

- An assault simple-with hands, fists, feet, etc was reported at 10:14 p.m. April 5 in the 6900 block of Mason Run Drive.

- An assault simple-with hands, fists, feet, etc was reported at 6 p.m. April 7 in the 5700 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy.

- Burglary/B&E-Res: At 4:45 p.m. April 7 in the 11700 block of Second Branch Road. Two unknown suspects were observed in the victim's residence after forcing entry through the rear door. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Nothing was reported stolen.

- Burglary/B&E-Res: At 11 p.m. April 5 in the 3000 block of Burley Ridge Tr. Unknown suspect/s entered the residence through a rear unlocked window. Listed items stolen: clothing and furs, jewelry and precious metals, miscellaneous, TVs, radios, cameras, computers, etc.

- Burglary/B&E-Res: At 7:15 p.m. April 6 in the 6800 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy. Known suspect broke the door of the residence. Nothing reported stolen at this time.

- Burglary/B&E-Res: At 8:15 p.m. April 7 in the 21300 block of Bridle Path Drive. Known suspect entered the residence through a window and assaulted the victim. Nothing reported stolen at this time.

- Burglary/B&E-Res: At 3 p.m. April 5 in the 6100 block of Strathmore Road. Unknown suspect/s entered an unlocked residence and stole the listed items: TVs, radios, cameras, computers, etc.

Theft, drugs

WEST CHILLISQUAQUE TOWNSHIP - Joshua Allen Snyder, 21, of Milesburg, was arraigned at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.

Snyder is charged by Trooper Mark Reasner of state police at Milton with stealing a 32-inch Sceptre LCD television valued at $240 from the residence of his grandparents, John and Donna Huff, of 175 N. Astro Drive, at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Snyder was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

DUI offenses

STONINGTON - Vincent James Bressi, 58, of 521 Webster St., Ranshaw, was charged by Cpl. George Ritchey of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and driving with an inoperable brake light relating to a Feb. 15 incident at the intersection of Scott Street and Route 890 in Zerbe Township.

Police reported Bressi had a blood-alcohol content of .148 percent.

DUI

STONINGTON - Trooper Mark Adams of state police at Stonington has charged Francis R. Sobol, 55, of Green Springs, Ohio, with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to possess a registration card, failure to notify police of a change of name or address, failure to drive in a single lane, a turn signal violation, depositing waste or other material on a highway, careless driving and a seat belt violation.

Sobol, who had a blood-alcohol content of .235 percent, was charged in connection with a traffic stop on Route 901 near Excelsior.

Burglary occurs in Colley Township

Several large appliances and other items were stolen during a recent burglary at a residence on Pantherlick Road in Colley Township, Sullivan County, police said.

The residence is owned by Robert Pond of Dushore.

Sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Monday, a burglar or burglars forced open a door of the residence and then proceeded to remove a refrigerator, an upright freezer, a microwave oven, and the top to a stove, police said.

Also stolen from the residence were two antique surge milkers, a hot water heater and an antique cream separator, state police said.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the state police at Laporte at (570) 946-4610.

Towanda woman charged with assault

Erica Lenora Stroud, 29, of Towanda has been charged with simple assault and harassment, police said.

Stroud pulled the hair of her mother, Vicki Wells, on March 26, police said. During the incident, Stroud also allegedly tried to drag her mother by the hair to the ground, police said.

The incident occurred at their residence, Towanda police said.

Stroud was arraigned on March 26 by Troy Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox. Stroud was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.

Stroud's preliminary hearing, which was scheduled to take place on April 3 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to April 26.

Man charged with defiant trespass

Ronald Allen Squire, 55, of Towanda has been charged with defiant trespass and public drunkenness, police said.

On April 10, Squire was told repeatedly by the police to leave the office of Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark, but Squire kept returning to the office.

Squire had no official business at the Towanda District Court, which is the court where Clark is the judge, according to the Towanda police.

Ronald Allen Squire, 55, of Towanda is accused of calling 911 Tuesday to summon an ambulance to his house for a strange medical emergency, when in fact, there was no emergency, police said.

Squire had requested the ambulance because one of his organs was falling off and because his innards were hanging out, according to the police.

The ambulance brought Squire to Memorial Hospital's emergency room, where a doctor who examined Squire told police that there was nothing wrong with him, according to a court document that the Towanda police filed in Towanda District Court.

The doctor told police that the hospital keeps getting false reports from Squire, which is an abuse of the emergency services provided by the hospital, according to the Towanda police.

Squire told police that he knows it is wrong to make the false reports, according to the Towanda police.

Following Tuesday's incident, Squire was charged with the first-degree misdemeanor of false alarms to agency of public safety, and the summary offense of disorderly conduct, police said.

Woman accused of stealing car

Erica Elaine Gardner, 21, of Troy is accused of stealing a car that belongs to Lloyd Jacob Bailey of Burlington Township, police said.

Gardner took the vehicle on April 4 after she and Bailey had spent the night together at Bailey's residence, police said.

Bailey told police that Gardner did not have permission to use the vehicle, according to a criminal complaint that the state police filed against Gardner in Towanda District Court.

After discovering that his 2001 Buick Century was missing, Bailey text messaged Gardner to find out where his car was, and she told him she took it and would bring it back soon, according to the criminal complaint. However, Gardner failed to return the vehicle and, at 5:46 p.m. on April 11, state police discovered Gardner in the vehicle on Sheshequin Road in Sheshequin Township, police said.

Gardner was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property, police said.

Gardner was arraigned by Troy Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox on April 11. She was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $55,000 bail.

Gardner must attend a preliminary hearing in Towanda District Court on Friday.

Theft in Warren Township

A theft has been reported by a 66-year-old female on the 100 block of Painter Road in Warren Township, state police said.

Two horse halters and a leap rope were taken near a barn on the property between the dates of March 1 and April 13.

Sexual assault investigation

State police are investigating an incident in which an allegation was made that a juvenile male attempted to sexually assault an 8-year-old female in Wyalusing Township in August of 2008.

Minor injury in one car crash

Robert C. Fansler Jr., 50, of Wyalusing sustained minor injuries during a one car accident on State Route 706 at 5:30 p.m. on March 16, in Wyalusing Township.

According to police, Fansler left the roadway and struck a concrete curb during the accident.

Fansler was taken into police custody following the crash for suspicion of DUI. Fansler was also charged with a traffic citation for not staying in his lane.

His lone passenger, Douglas W. Black, 46, of New Albany was not injured during the accident, police said.

Interferes with custody

KULPMONT - Alan K. Pollock, 48, of 622 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, has been charged by Patrolman Joshua Pastucka with interfering with the custody of children and concealment of the whereabouts of a child relating to a March 15 incident.

According to a criminal complaint, Pollock is accused of taking a minor female with him to testify in court without the permission of the girl's parents.

DUI, speeding

KULPMONT - Samantha L. Joseph, 20, of 225 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Joshua Pastucka with driving under the influence of Delta-9 Carboxy THC, an active component of marijuana and cannabis, unauthorized use or transfer of registration, driving an unregistered vehicle and speeding relating to a Feb. 15 traffic stop on Route 61 at the entrance to Strong.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Leon L. Fite Jr., 30, of 620 N. Cleaver St., Apt. 10, Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving without a license, overtaking a vehicle on the left and failure to drive in a single lane relating to a March 7 accident on Route 901 near Excelsior.

Police reported Fite was found to be driving under the influence of Lorazepam, Clonazepam, Alprazolam, Oxycodone and Cyclobenzaprine.

MOUNT CARMEL - Cheryl L. Twiggs, 49, of 250 S. Poplar St., Apt. 4A, Mount Carmel, has been charged by Patrolman Daniel Politza with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, careless driving and driving at an unsafe speed.

Police said the charges relate to a Feb. 8 two-vehicle accident in the 800 block of West Fifth Street that injured pedestrian Gerard Koveleskie, of Mount Carmel.

Police reported Twiggs had a blood-alcohol content of .145 percent and also was driving under the influence of Cotinine, Nicotine, Theobromine, Delta-9 Carboxy THC, Oxycodone and Paroxetine.

Simple assault

M0UNT CARMEL - Patrolman Jason Drumheller has charged Joseph R. McClain-Broden, 23, of 134 S. Oak St., Apt. B, Second Floor, Mount Carmel, with two counts of simple assault and one count of harassment relating to an April 8 disturbance at 136 S. Oak St.

Police reported McClain-Broden is accused of assaulting Mark Lender, who suffered contusions to his eyes and face and back and rib pain.

Possession

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 15-year-old Shamokin male is charged by Coal Township Police with possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly being found in possession of two smoking pipes April 10.

Safe stolen

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - A small safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash along with deeds and other paperwork was reported stolen from a home on Trevorton Road.

Robert Kerstetter, 62, of 670 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, told Zerbe Township Police someone broke into his home between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday and ransacked several rooms.

SHAMOKIN - Dwayne Harkes, 42, of 505 S. Market St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, driving without insurance and careless driving relating to a March 31 accident at Market and Lincoln streets.

Police reported Harkes had a blood-alcohol content of .355 percent.

Drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Vernon L. Hoke Jr., 33, of 716 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility relating to an April 11 incident at his home.

Police reported Hoke delivered five 15 mg Oxycodone tablets to a confidential informant.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert Knock, 22, of 14 S. Willow St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving relating to a March 23 accident on Route 2026 in Coal Run.

Police reported Knock was driving west at 3:47 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, which struck two parked vehicles and a utility pole. The parked vehicles were owned by Prena and Aleksander Kolovic, both of 317 State Route 2026, Coal Run.

Vandalism reported

An unknown person reportedly damaged several mailboxes on the 9700 block of State Route 706 and the 900 block of Peet Hill Road in Tuscarora and Stevens Townships on April 13.

According to police, some vehicles that were parked in driveways also had their windows damaged. No description of the perpetrators was available because all of the victims were unaware of the situation.

Burglary in Wyalusing

A 74-year-old Wyalusing male has been the victim of a burglary which occurred between Aug. 1 and March 30 at his residence in Wyalusing Township.

According to police, an unknown person entered the victim's house and removed an unspecified amount of cash.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Man cited for harassment

State police at Towanda said that Shawn Rae McKusick, 24, of Troy, is accused in a harassment incident that took place at 11 p.m., March 30 on Route 6 in West Burlington Township.

Trooper Hibson said a 32-year-old Troy man reported that McKusick punched and scratched him several times during a dispute.

Police said a non-traffic citation was filed at District Court 42-3-01 for harassment.

Mailbox vandalized

A 45-year-old Canton man told state police at Towanda that someone used an unknown object to damage his mailbox sometime between 9 p.m. March 22 and 8:30 a.m. March 23 at 1326 Southside Road in Canton Township, and fled in an unknown direction.

Minor injury reported

State police at Towanda said a 15-year-old East Smithfield female had a minor injury in a crash at 4 a.m. March 31 on Route 14 in Troy Township.

Trooper John Youngblood said the teenager was traveling north, and lost control of her 2011 Nissan while negotiating an uphill, left curve. He said the vehicle crossed the northbound shoulder and went through a guiderail.

He said the girl was charged with violations of "roadways laned for traffic" and "drivers required to be licensed."

A 38-year-old woman told state police at Towanda that someone broke a window in the basement area of her residence sometime between 6 p.m. March 27 and 8:30 a.m. March 28 in the 200 block of Doty Hill Road in South Creek Township and removed items from inside.

Towanda man found not guilty of indecent assault

A Wyoming County jury found a Towanda truck driver not guilty of indecent assault of a Pump and Pantry employee last June after a trial Tuesday.

Randy Lee Johnson, 53, was accused of groping a young woman as she stood behind a counter on June 27; he was also facing an additional charge from the next day that he came up behind her and pressed himself against her, taking her by the hip.

Following testimony from both sides, including four DVDs from a surveillance camera, Johnson was found not guilty of both counts of indecent assault/lack of consent, as well as on both counts of indecent assault/forcible compulsion.

Two-vehicle crash

JACKSON TOWNSHIP - A passanger was taken to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for precautionary reasons following a two-vehicle crash on Route 225 near the White Oak Tavern at approximately 1:05 p.m. Sunday.

State police at Stonington report a 1996 Subaru Legacy, driven by Bridget Mae Laudenslager, 19, of Herndon, was traveling south on Route 225 when it struck a 1998 Buick, driven by Doris Glace, 77, of Dalmatia, as it was turning into a driveway. A passenger in Glace's car, Miriam Adams, 87, of Dalmatia, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Assisting police at the scene were members of the Herndon, Lower Mahanoy and Pillow fire companies and Americus Ambulance.

Disorderly conduct

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - James R. Leaman Jr., 41, of Halifax, was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass following an incident at 7:46 p.m. at The Skatery skating rink.

Police say Leaman allegedly failed to obey the posted rules and regulations of the establishment, and then refused to leave when asked to do so.
