Towanda man charged with resisting arrest

Roy Franklin Kelley III of Towanda has been charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, police said.

The charges stem from an April 22 incident in which Kelley was running down the street, screaming and yelling, while under the influence of a drug, police said. The incident occurred at 6:40 p.m. in the area of Main and Maple streets in Towanda, police said.

Kelley, 40, had told police earlier the same day that he was under the influence of "legal" ecstacy, according to the Towanda police.

Two charged with assault in Towanda

Brittany Nicole Brady and Melissa Marie Frank, both of Towanda, are accused of assaulting a female in Towanda, police said.

During the assault, Brady and Frank punched and kicked the victim, police said.

The victim, Kristy Skiro, received a cut under her right eye and a swollen right hand, and she was taken to Memorial Hospital to be checked out, police said.

The incident occurred at 1:58 a.m. on April 21 outside P.J.'s tavern on Main Street, according to the Towanda police.

Brady, 24, and Frank, 23, were both charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness, police said.

Frank was also cited with criminal mischief because she removed a metal floor grate in a Towanda police holding cell, and broke the grate in half by banging it against the floor and wall, police said.

DUI charge

The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

- Juan Carlos Sanchez Lopez, 22, of Dublin, Ga., by the Towanda police, on April 19, on Main Street in Towanda. The charge was filed after Sanchez Lopez was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Sanchez Lopez exhibited signs of having consumed alcohol.

Tampering with evidence

Scott Foster Cron, 27, of Wysox has been charged with tampering with evidence relating to a April 14 incident at Benjamin's Garage in Wysox.

According to police, Cron gained access to his vehicle while it was seized at Benjamin's Garage after he was arrested for eluding police, driving under the influence, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

While inside of the vehicle, Cron removed evidence from inside as authorities waited to obtain a search warrant for the 2002 F150 truck. The items which were removed from the vehicle were later found at Cron's house, police said.

Cron has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on May 21 for a preliminary hearing.

Woman hits man with pipe

Kelly Jo Parton, 45, of Rome has been charged with simple assault and harassment relating to a March 28 incident at her residence in Windham Township.

According to police, Parton struck her boyfriend over the top of the head with a pipe. Her boyfriend, Roger L. Hitchcock, received four staples to close the wound on his head.

Parton has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on March 21 for a preliminary hearing.
