The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to identify a suspect in an abduction case.

On Sunday, June 30, a boyfriend and girlfriend who were staying with a friend in Henrico County sought transportation to run errands in Chesterfield County. At the Subway Restaurant on Azalea Avenue, they met a man who identified himself as Novelle and agreed to help them with transportation. After a couple of stops along the way, they ended up at the Sheetz at 20 S. Providence Road. While the boyfriend went inside the store, the man drove away with the girlfriend in the car and said they would meet up with the boyfriend at a different location. The female knew something was wrong and asked to be let out of the car, but the suspect grabbed her to prevent her from leaving. He even engaged a child lock so she could not open the car door. Eventually, she reached over, hit the unlock button and escaped while at the 7-Eleven on Turner Road near Midlothian Turnpike.

The suspect is a black male, 30-35 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall and 280 pounds. He wore a white T-shirt, black and white gym shorts, white ankle socks and black open-toe sandals. He was driving a silver Nissan SUV, which may have been a rental vehicle.

Pictures of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving can be seen on the Crime of the Week page of www.crimesolvers.net.
