Disorderly conduct

RANSHAW - Charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were filed by Patrolman Dave Sage against Thomas J. Feudale, 49, of 545 Sixth St., rear, Ranshaw, involving an incident shortly before 8 p.m. Friday at Sixth and Main streets.

Police reported Feudale was walking in and out of traffic with a staggered gait while carrying a beer can when the Shamokin Rotary Club Santa sleigh was stopped in the area greeting children and other area residents.

Police said Feudale remained in the area and his actions caused concern, prompting police to take him into custody without incident. He was transported to a detention cell at Coal Township Police Station before being taken to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury. He was later arraigned on the charges and posted bail.

Theft from vehicle

COAL TOWNSHIP - Michael Kovack, 61, of Coal Township, told police someone ransacked his vehicle and removed gift cards for Boscov's and Lowe's.

Police said the theft occurred between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday near Kovack's residence.

T-bone accident

KULPMONT - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle, T-bone crash Monday morning at the intersection of Eighth and Chestnut streets.

Chief of Police Michael Pitcavage reported Kenneth S. Ross, 51, of 733 Pine St., Kulpmont, was stopped for a stop sign on Eighth Street at 11:42 a.m. when he attempted to slowly pull out his 2001 Ford Ranger to make a right turn onto Chestnut Street. At that point, Pitcavage said a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven west on Chestnut Street by David Aaron Avellino, 26, of 134 Arizona Drive, Den-Mar Gardens, collided with Ross' truck despite attempts by Avellino to slow down and avoid a crash.

Ross' truck sustained severe damage to its driver's side and was towed from the scene by Dave's Auto Body of Shady Acres. Avellino's vehicle sustained minor front-end damage and was able to be driven from the scene.

Pitcavage said Ross will be cited for an inspection violation.

Assisting at the accident were Kulpmont firefighters and fire police.

The scene was cleared at 12:15 p.m.

Endangers children

MOUNT CARMEL - Patrolman Matthew Dillman has charged Randy Wade Dimpfl, 44, of 38 N. Maple St., Apt. 5, Mount Carmel, with endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia involving an Aug. 31 incident at his apartment.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Dimpfl possessed a syringe in his bathroom where two small children would have access to it.

Dimpfl is currently an inmate at SCI-Coal Township.

False identification

KULPMONT - Diondre Zaire Watts, 25, of 1025 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was charged by Patrolman David Tomtishen with providing police with false identification involving an Oct. 25 incident.

Police reported Watts gave Tomtishen a false name and date of birth when confronted after walking out of a wooded area into a parking lot behind Holy Angels Church on Scott Street.

Fugitive arrested

MOUNT CARMEL - Wilburn Harden Denman, 46, of 50 N. Maple St., Apt. 301, Mount Carmel, was arrested Wednesday by Patrolman William Adamski for being a fugitive from justice.

Police said Denman, who was wanted by authorities in Austin, Texas, for unauthorized use of a vehicle, was taken into custody following a domestic dispute at 8:40 p.m. at his apartment.

Denman was incarcerated at Northumberland County Prison, Sunbury, after failing to post $50,000 bail at his arraignment Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones.

Simple assault

ATLAS - Jason David White, 21, of 306 E. Columbia Ave., Atlas, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski with two counts each of simple assault and disorderly conduct and one count of harassment.

Police reported White is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, Crystal L. Vankirk, on Dec. 6 at White's residence.

White remains in Northumberland County Prison, Sunbury, after failing to post $25,000 bail at his arraignment Wednesday.

Charges filed

State police at Towanda said charges were filed Nov. 26, for an unsworn falsification to authorities incident, against Rodney Babcock, 52, of Rome, who completed a firearm transaction form at 2:40 p.m. Sept. 11 at Bell's Gun Shop in Orwell Township and answered "no" to the question relating to a court order restraining order.

Police said he has an active restraining order out of the state of New Jersey, and the sale transaction was denied. He was unable to purchase the firearm.

Rape investigated

State police at Towanda said they are investigating an allegation that a rape occurred at a private residence sometime between 10 p.m. Nov. 25 and midnight in Burlington Township.

Police said the victim was a 29-year-old Towanda woman.

No injuries

State police at Towanda said Christopher J. Mu, 43, of Brady, Mont. was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 4 p.m. Nov. 26 on Route 14 in Troy Township.

Police said he was traveling north on Route 14, approximately one mile north of Alba, and lost control of his Dodge Ram 1500 on the snow-covered road. Police said the vehicle hit a ditch on the side of the road, overturned, and came to final rest in the southbound shoulder area of Route 14, facing northwest. Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene by Junior's Towing. Fire police assisted at the scene.

Mu was charged with "driving too fast for conditions," police said.

Argument turns physical

State police at Towanda said Melinda Harkness, 21, and Michael Harkness, 23, both of Rome, were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 on North Orwell Road in Rome Township.

In their report, police listed Melinda Harkness as the accused party and Michael Harkness as the victim.

Charge pending

State police at Towanda said a non-traffic citation for summary criminal trespass is pending against Gerald T. Lazeski Jr., 57, of Elmira, N.Y. through District Court 42-3-01 for an incident that occurred at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 1 on private property on Ayers Road in Wells Township.

Police said Lazeski entered the posted property of Janina Beelitz, 87, of Gillett, without her permission.

No one injured

State police at Towanda said Kevin E. Perry, 55, of Columbia Cross Roads, was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 5 p.m. Nov. 26 on Coryland Road in Columbia Township.

Police said he was traveling west, approximately one-half mile west of Route 14, and lost control of his Toyota Tundra on the snow-covered road, hit a ditch, and overturned. After the rollover, the vehicle came to final rest in the eastbound shoulder of Coryland Road, facing southwest.

Police said he was charged with "driving vehicle at safe speeds."

Woman not injured

State police at Mansfield said Andrea M. Kuntz, 23, of Troy, was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 3:24 p.m. Dec. 1 on Route 6 in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said a deer ran out onto the roadway, from a wooded area south of the roadway, and Kuntz's Volkswagen Bug struck the deer and then pulled onto the north berm area, coming to final rest. Upon impact, the deer was knocked off the road and came to rest north of the roadway, police said.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Annah Ortiz, 41, of 1447 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for disorderly conduct after she allegedly tipped over a Dumpster and took items from it behind the Salvation Army Thrift Store on East Independence Street at 11 a.m. Sunday.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Zachary John Tyson, 27, of 416 E. Cameron St., Shamokin, was charged by Coal Township police with two counts of driving under the influence in the McDonald's drive-thru shortly after midnight Nov. 13.

Patrolman David Sage said Tyson was discovered asleep at the wheel of his white Jeep while it was parked and running in the drive-thru lane at 12:32 a.m. Tyson smelled of alcohol when officers woke him, Sage said in the criminal complaint. He also failed field sobriety tests and a blood test revealed a .236 percent blood alcohol content.

The criminal complaint also contained a statement from Tyson that after he had a few beers with friends "he had driven to the McDonald's restaurant and came to the drive-thru so that he could order a pizza."

'Spice' charges

SHAMOKIN - Dawel R. Lantigua, 22, of 17 S. Rock St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after the drug "Spice" and rolling papers were found in his bedroom by county probation officers at 6:23 p.m. Friday. The charges were filed by Shamokin City Police Cpl. Bryan Primerano with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Endangering children

SHAMOKIN - City police officer Nathan Rhodes charged Martin Golder, 35, of 38 S. 7th St., with endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at his residence Dec. 11.

Police said in court documents they were dispatched to the residence for an alleged heroin overdose and found Golder laying face down on the bathroom floor. Police also found a plastic bag with a hypodermic needle, a spoon and a small empty bag of heroin in it. Golder's 11-year-old son was home at the time the overdose happened.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic, of Shamokin.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - City Police Cpl. Bryan Primerano charged Christian Krych, 19, of 156 E. Independence St., Apt. 3B Shamokin, with possession of drug paraphernalia and an alcohol-related offense after an incident at his residence at 8:04 p.m. Dec. 12.

Police said in court documents Krych was found in his residence not feeling well after an alleged overdose of prescription medication. When police came to his aid, officers found a beer can adapted to a smoking device with the residue of burnt "Spice" on the smoking portion of the can. Krych told police someone must have broken into his apartment and placed the beer can/smoking device next to him.

Because Krych is underage, police charged him with underage possession of alcoholic or malted beverages. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic, of Shamokin.

Argument leads to drug arrests

Officers with the Athens Township Police Department responded to Mountain View Manor in Athens Township for a reported domestic disturbance on Nov. 10.

Upon their arrival, officers found Kamry M. Smiley, 24, of Sayre, and Brandon C. Eschenburg, 26, of Athens, standing near the driver's side of a vehicle which was parked in an odd manner in the parking lot. Officers reported being familiar with the individuals as they have responded to domestic incidences involving the two in the past.

In their speaking with Smiley and Eschenburg, officers observed Eschenburg to be under the influence of an unknown narcotic, possibly opiates. Eschenburg advised the officers that the two had been arguing, but that he was just dropping Smiley off at the apartment complex.

While speaking with Eschenburg, another officer indicated that he had previously seen Eschenburg remove an item from Smiley's purse and place it under the front driver's seat of the vehicle. When asked about this movement, Eschenburg became agitated and nervous. A short time later he removed the item and showed officers the contents which were: numerous hypodermic needles, a metal spoon and pieces of cotton. At this time, Eschenburg advised the officers that the items belonged to Smiley. Smiley however, advised the officers that the items belonged to Eschenburg.

Officers found additional paraphernalia items upon their inspection of the vehicle.

Kamry M. Smiley was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Nov. 18 and received $100 bail. She waived her preliminary hearing and will face the charges in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.

Brandon C. Eschenburg was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Nov. 18 and received non-monetary bail. He waived his preliminary hearing and will face the charges in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.

Retail theft reported

On Nov. 15, associates from Walmart contacted the Athens Township Police to report they had detained an individual for shoplifting.

Upon arrival, officers arrested Poppy R. Hunsinger, 22, of Monroeton, and charged her with the offenses of retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As Hunsinger was being processed at the police station, officers discovered a white pill in a small plastic bag, along with a small straw. Therefore, she was charged with the additional drug related charges.

Theft, fraud, forgery reported

A victim on Gordon Farr Street in Ulster Township reported that unauthorized charges were made against their bank account some time between Oct. 24 and Nov. 3.

Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating a suspect in reference to this incident.

Marijuana possession reported

Pennsylvania State Police report that on Nov. 7, Douglas E. Smith, 37, of Gillett, was arrested and charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest is the result of State Police serving a warrant on an unrelated charge and discovering the items in plain sight at the residence of the accused.

Theft of trapping supplies occurs

On Nov. 1, a male victim in Ulster Township reported the theft of several jars of homemade trapping lure missing from the inside of his shed and a coyote trap missing from the rear porch of his residence. Lewdness charge reported

Pennsylvania State Police reported the arrest of 53-year-old Wyalusing resident, Karl A. Ridenour on Nov. 12, after an incident on Route 6 in Wyalusing.

State police responded to the overlook on Route 6 after they received information about a man masturbating in his vehicle. Two witnesses related that they saw the defendant in his vehicle and told troopers that there was a child asleep in the backseat.

Ridenour was contacted at his residence a short time later and although admitting to being at the overlook, denied that he was engaging in the lewd conduct. The welfare of the child was confirmed and information relayed to the child's mother and Children and Youth Services.

On Nov. 8, Ridenour admitted to police that he was engaging in open lewd conduct on the Route 6 overpass. A summons was then issued for his appearance in court to answer the charge. He is set to face Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Dec. 23.

Damage to vehicle

On Nov. 12, Pennsylvania State Police received a notice of criminal mischief at a residence on the Berwick Turnpike in Ridgebury Township. On that date, the victim reported that the passenger side mirror of her vehicle was damaged and her passenger side tire was deflated.

Wyalusing student found with marijuana

On Nov. 21, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to Wyalusing High School in Wyalusing Township for a report of a student found with a small amount of marijuana and a marijuana pipe. The accused is described as a 16-year-old male who was subsequently released into the custody of a guardian.

The youth was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Student charged with possession of marijuana

On Oct. 3, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to Wyalusing High School in Wyalusing Township for a report of a student found with a small amount of marijuana. The accused is described as a 13-year-old male who was subsequently released into the custody of a guardian.

The youth was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Harassment charges brought

Pennsylvania State Police reported on Oct. 26, Kevin Sorenson, 50, of Towanda, and Tabitha Wolf, 26, of Towanda, engaged in a verbal argument which turned physical. The altercation allegedly took place on Woodside Terrace in Sheshequin Township.

Theft of large amount of money occurs

Some time between Sept. 9 and Sept. 27, an unknown actor(s) obtained US currency belonging to a 60-year-old victim from Wyalusing, at the Camptown Dandy Mini Mart. The investigation is ongoing by the Pennsylvania State Police. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact PSP in Towanda at (570) 265-2186 or 800-4-PA-TIPS. A name is not required and information which leads to an arrest may result in a reward of up to $2,000 cash.

Theft of money reported

Some time between February and October of 2014, an 81-year-old male in Ulster Township was the victim of the theft of a large amount of money from his personal bank account. The thefts were committed by an individual known by the victim, during the aforementioned time span. The investigation into this matter is ongoing by the Pennsylvania State Police.

One vehicle accident reported

On Nov. 19, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a one vehicle accident which occurred at Route 2010 in Terry Township as a vehicle, for unknown reasons, traveled across the double yellow lines and into a ditch. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and continued for approximately 150 feet before coming to rest in a field on the north side of the roadway. The driver was identified as 18-year-old Colston W. Gowin of Sugar Run, who was uninjured in the crash.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Fulmer's Garage. New Albany Fire Department assisted on the scene.

Cabin burglary occurs

Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating a break in at a cabin on Painter Road in Warren Township. The victim reported that when he went to inspect his cabin, he noticed an unknown actor(s) entered the cabin through a basement door. They then forced entry into a shed near the cabin. It is unknown if anything was taken during the incident. An investigation is ongoing.

Corruption of minors investigation taking place

State police are investigating a corruption of minors incident in which Bradford County Children and Youth Services reported that a 16-year-old juvenile female was involved in a sexual relationship with a 25-year-old male between Jan. 6 and Oct. 10 in Wysox Township.

The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief occurs near Monroe Township

Three people were recently the victims of criminal mischief that occurred on State Route 220 north of Monroe Township between 11 p.m. of Dec. 12 and 1 a.m. of Dec. 13.

According to state police, it was during this time that unknown actor(s) ran over four mailboxes belonging to the victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at (570) 265-2186.

Hit-and-run crash occurs in Sullivan County

A hit-and-run crash occurred recently at Baumunk's General Store in Fox Township in Sullivan County.

According to state police, Michael Czypecki, 35, of Masontown was driving a 2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara north on State Route 154 at approximately 11 p.m. on Dec. 15 when he lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to travel down a grass embankment and over a low stone wall. The vehicle became airborne as a result and came to a final rest in a flower garden on top of a water well head. Czypecki then fled the scene in the vehicle, which sustained severe damage as a result of the crash.

Czypecki was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seat belt. Various traffic citations were filed through the Sullivan County District Magistrate's office.

Men face hearing on theft

Steven Nicholas Vanderpool, 20, of Laceyville, faces a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton of Wysox on a charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition for an incident that took place Oct. 9 on Springhill Road in Tuscarora Township, according to court papers.

The papers note that Vanderpool is charged with the theft of a 5-7 HP electric motor, a gearbox, drive wheels, and steel weights. This silo unloader equipment has a $3,450 value. The charge is a felony of the third degree.

In the same case, Michael Edward Walter Jr., 22, of Laceyville, is also charged with the same offense and faces a preliminary hearing before Wheaton. The hearings had been set for Dec. 16, but Wheaton's office said they were continued. A new date wasn't yet known.

The owner of the items was redacted in the court papers.

 

Minor injuries

State police at Towanda said two people had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:54 p.m. Dec. 9 on Barrett Hill Road in Troy Township.

Police said Austin W. Kleintop, 24, of Walnutport, Pa., was traveling north, when the front bucket on his vehicle dropped and dug into the dirt ground.

Kleintop and Rodger S. Holtzer, 47, of Lehighton, Pa., a passenger in his vehicle, had minor injuries and were taken by Western Alliance to Troy Community Hospital, police said.

 

Harassment charges filed

State police at Towanda said charges for harassment were filed through District Court 42-3-01 after Faith Bassett, 54, of Tobyhanna, contacted a 25-year-old Canton Township woman by phone at 9:37 p.m. Nov. 25, after being told not to by the victim and Pennsylvania State Police on an earlier date.

 

No one injured

State police at Towanda said no injuries were reported in an incident that occurred at 8:55 a.m. Sept. 25 on Route 706 in Wyalusing Township.

Drivers involved were Kathleen F. Edsell, 47, of Wyalusing, and Patrick Foley, 27, of Dallas, Pa., police said.

According to police, Foley was traveling south and Edsell was traveling north. As they met each other in opposing lanes, a large metal piece of equipment fell off the back of Foley's vehicle. The piece of equipment slid across the road and struck the front end area and undercarriage of Edsell's vehicle, disabling it. Foley continued to travel south on Route 706.

Police said Foley was charged with a violation of "securing loads in vehicles."

 

Man waives hearing on possession

Curtis Dylan Opdyke, 23, of Troy, waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas for a drug paraphernalia charge for an incident at 12:40 p.m. Nov. 5 on Leona Road in Springfield Township, according to Wilcox.

Court papers note that Opdyke used, or possessed with the intent to use, drug paraphernalia, namely plastic bags containing marijuana residue, for the purpose of storing/containing marijuana.

No injuries

State police at Towanda said Cari L. Carlson, 31, of Troy, was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:49 a.m. Dec. 11 on Route 6 in Troy Township.

Police said she was traveling east and lost control of her Pontiac Grand Prix, while negotiating a right hand curve. Police said her vehicle struck an embankment on the northern shoulder of the roadway.

Police said she was charged, but they did not list the offense.

 

No criminal violation

State police at Towanda said they were notified Dec. 8 of a PFA violation that occurred July 19 in LeRoy Township that involved a 3-year-old male juvenile.

However, police said the investigation into the complaint revealed that no criminal violation was committed.

 

One injured

State police at Towanda said Brock A. Campbell, 19, of Canton, had a minor injury in a one-vehicle crash at 1:48 a.m. Nov. 30 on Southside Road in Canton Township.

Police said he was driving east in a Dodge Dakota and traveled off the north shoulder of the roadway, striking a tree.

Police said he was charged with a violation of "driving vehicle at safe speed."

 

Man charged with DUI

State police at Towanda said Ryan James O'Hart, 26, of LeRaysville, was stopped for a traffic violation at 12:34 p.m. Nov. 30 on Route 220 Southbound, south of North Rome Road, in Rome Borough, and was subsequently found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police said he was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. He was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance as well as possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia through District Court 42-3-04, police said.

Sherryann Cathleen Levindoski, 46, of Troy, by Pennsylvania State Police for a crash at approximately 9:59 a.m. Nov. 3 on Coolbaugh Hill Road in Granville Township.

Police said the alcohol concentration in Levindoski's blood was .323 percent.

She was also charged with driving a motor vehicle upon a highway in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania without a valid driver's license for the type or class of vehicle she was driving, failing to drive on the right half of the roadway, careless driving, and a violation of "restriction on alcoholic beverages," according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy. She has a fast track waiver hearing scheduled for Dec. 19 before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark of Towanda.

Brendan Alexander Kealey, 19, of Waterville, Pa. by Pennsylvania State Police for a crash at approximately 9:15 p.m. Sept. 14 on Route 6 in Columbia Township.

He is also charged with possessing a small amount of marijuana for personal use; a violation of "registration and certificate of title required;" a lane violation; careless driving; and not wearing a properly adjusted and fastened safety seat belt system, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy. He has a fast track waiver hearing scheduled for Dec. 19 before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark of Towanda. Police said a lab reported showed Kealey's blood contained active components of marijuana.

Kyle Thomas Chaapel, 27, of Monroeton, by Pennsylvania State Police for a one-vehicle crash on Route 14 at the intersection with Roaring Run Road at approximately 1:20 a.m. Nov. 2 in South Creek Township.

He was also charged with a violation of "registration and certificate of title required," a violation of "stop signs and yield signs," a violation of "driving vehicle at safe speed," and careless driving, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy. Police said a forensic analysis of Chaapel's blood revealed a blood-alcohol content of .186 percent.

Tonya Lynn Cummings, 46, of Canton, by Pennsylvania State Police for a one-vehicle crash at approximately 8:35 p.m. Sept. 12 on Baileys Corners Road in Granville Township.

She is also charged with driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, a lane violation, a violation of "driving vehicle at safe speed," careless driving, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, and failing to report a crash, where her vehicle was lodged in a high-tension electric fence and was damaged to the extent that it required towing, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy. Police said Cummings' blood-alcohol content was .224 percent.

Men face hearing on theft

Steven Nicholas Vanderpool, 20, of Laceyville, faces a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton of Wysox on a charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition for an incident that took place Oct. 9 on Springhill Road in Tuscarora Township, according to court papers.

The papers note that Vanderpool is charged with the theft of a 5-7 HP electric motor, a gearbox, drive wheels, and steel weights. This silo unloader equipment has a $3,450 value. The charge is a felony of the third degree.

In the same case, Michael Edward Walter Jr., 22, of Laceyville, is also charged with the same offense and faces a preliminary hearing before Wheaton. The hearings had been set for Dec. 16, but Wheaton's office said they were continued. A new date wasn't yet known.

The owner of the items was redacted in the court papers.

Minor injuries

State police at Towanda said two people had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:54 p.m. Dec. 9 on Barrett Hill Road in Troy Township.

Police said Austin W. Kleintop, 24, of Walnutport, Pa., was traveling north, when the front bucket on his vehicle dropped and dug into the dirt ground.

Kleintop and Rodger S. Holtzer, 47, of Lehighton, Pa., a passenger in his vehicle, had minor injuries and were taken by Western Alliance to Troy Community Hospital, police said.

Harassment charges filed

State police at Towanda said charges for harassment were filed through District Court 42-3-01 after Faith Bassett, 54, of Tobyhanna, contacted a 25-year-old Canton Township woman by phone at 9:37 p.m. Nov. 25, after being told not to by the victim and Pennsylvania State Police on an earlier date.

No one injured

State police at Towanda said no injuries were reported in an incident that occurred at 8:55 a.m. Sept. 25 on Route 706 in Wyalusing Township.

Drivers involved were Kathleen F. Edsell, 47, of Wyalusing, and Patrick Foley, 27, of Dallas, Pa., police said.

According to police, Foley was traveling south and Edsell was traveling north. As they met each other in opposing lanes, a large metal piece of equipment fell off the back of Foley's vehicle. The piece of equipment slid across the road and struck the front end area and undercarriage of Edsell's vehicle, disabling it. Foley continued to travel south on Route 706.

Police said Foley was charged with a violation of "securing loads in vehicles."

Man waives hearing on possession

Curtis Dylan Opdyke, 23, of Troy, waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas for a drug paraphernalia charge for an incident at 12:40 p.m. Nov. 5 on Leona Road in Springfield Township, according to Wilcox.

Court papers note that Opdyke used, or possessed with the intent to use, drug paraphernalia, namely plastic bags containing marijuana residue, for the purpose of storing/containing marijuana.

No injuries

State police at Towanda said Cari L. Carlson, 31, of Troy, was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:49 a.m. Dec. 11 on Route 6 in Troy Township.

Police said she was traveling east and lost control of her Pontiac Grand Prix, while negotiating a right hand curve. Police said her vehicle struck an embankment on the northern shoulder of the roadway.

Police said she was charged, but they did not list the offense.

No criminal violation

State police at Towanda said they were notified Dec. 8 of a PFA violation that occurred July 19 in LeRoy Township that involved a 3-year-old male juvenile.

However, police said the investigation into the complaint revealed that no criminal violation was committed.

One injured

State police at Towanda said Brock A. Campbell, 19, of Canton, had a minor injury in a one-vehicle crash at 1:48 a.m. Nov. 30 on Southside Road in Canton Township.

Police said he was driving east in a Dodge Dakota and traveled off the north shoulder of the roadway, striking a tree.

Police said he was charged with a violation of "driving vehicle at safe speed."

Man charged with DUI

Petit larceny arrest made

Upon investigation into a report of a larceny that occurred on Dec. 7, at Ted Clark's Market on Broad Street in the Village of Waverly, N.Y., Waverly Police arrested Billie Jo Acla, age 47, of Athens, and charged her with petit larceny on Dec. 18.

Acla is accused of stealing two containers of alcohol from the store.

Billie Jo Acla was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges on Jan. 8, 2015, in the Village of Waverly Justice Court.

Weapon and marijuana possession leads to arrest

Charles C. Card, age 49, of Waverly, N.Y., was arrested as the result of the serving of two warrants at 1:48 p.m. on Dec. 16. Card is accused of possessing a firearm and illegally possessing marijuana. The illegal items were found as Waverly Police officers responded to a disturbance at his Waverly home.

Card was arraigned in Village of Waverly Justice Court on Dec. 16 and was sent to the Tioga County N.Y. Jail on $2,500 bail to await further court action.

Charges filed after damage to home

Beth Ann Hyde, age 45, of Breesport, N.Y., was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, for charges related to entering a Waverly, N.Y., residence on Nov. 13, and causing damage to the home and items inside.

Hyde was subsequently charged with criminal mischief and criminal trespass. She was issued an appearance ticket to answer to the charges in the Village of Waverly Justice Court.

Corruption of minors

MARION HEIGHTS - Michael A. Filipczak, 22 of 1580 Chestnut St., Lebanon, was charged with corruption of minors, selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverages, and two counts of criminal conspiracy following an Aug. 17 incident at an East Clermont Street home.

According to court documents filed by Mount Carmel Township police Patrolman Matthew Filarski, officers were called to Marion Heights for a noise complaint and found two individuals under the age of 21 drinking alcohol inside the residence.

An investigation showed Filipczak and another individual purchased the alcohol for the party and allegedly knew there were underage individuals attending.

Filipczak was arraigned Wednesday on the charges by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones of Mount Carmel and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Jones Jan. 7.

Nuisance violations

SHAMOKIN - Two individuals were cited Dec. 16 by Shamokin City Police Cpl. Bryan Primerano for violating Shamokin's public nuisance ordinance for the condition of their properties. All the property owners were previously sent a certified letter advising them of the code violations, but no response or corrections were made, Primerano said. Each was cited three previous times by city code officer Rick Bozza, also with no response.

Two face drug charges

A Towanda man and woman face drug charges after an incident that occurred on March 21 in North Towanda.

According to information filed by police with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, Andrew Howard Bailey, 27, and Katie Lynn Watkins, 23, have been charged with criminal conspiracy/possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance; possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Additionally, Bailey has been charged with criminal use of a communication facility.

According to police, Bailey and Watkins were charged after selling eight small baggies of heroin valued at $160 to another individual.

Bailey and Watkins were both arraigned by Clark and their preliminary hearings are scheduled for Dec. 24.

Gillett man faces drug charges

According to information filed by police with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, Joseph Lee Granger, 43, of Gillett was recently charged with the use of or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance following an incident that occurred on July 16 in Sheshequin Township.

According to the criminal complaint, officers of the Bradford County Adult Probation Department arrived at the scene to conduct a search as well as arrest the person living at the residence for probation-related violations. The resident notified the officers that Granger and another individual were in the back bedroom of the residence. Upon searching the bedroom, the officers located Granger and the individual, along with multiple drug paraphernalia and instruments used to ingest, including three plastic wraps of bath salts; one zip lock baggie of bath salts; one marijuana pipe with residue; one metal spoon with residue; one plastic pill grinder with residue; one metal marijuana grinder; two hypodermic needles and two plastic baggies with residue. Upon further drug analysis, the residues were found to contain bath salts, marijuana and heroin.

Granger was arraigned before Clark in lieu of $5,000 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 24.

Man charged with possession and underage drinking

An Athens man faces charges after being found with possession of marijuana and underage drinking.

According to information filed by police with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, police responded to a complaint of a possible underage drinking party occurring at a residence in Ulster on Dec. 13. Upon making contact with Leblanc, police observed multiple alcoholic beverage containers on the kitchen table and detected the odor of alcohol on Leblanc. Two juvenile females were also inside the residence, with one observed to have blood-shot eyes and an odor of alcohol. Leblanc also notified police that there were two other people inside the residence, which were determined to be juvenile males. After seeking and gaining permission to search the residence, police discovered two glass pipes and marijuana inside Leblanc's bedroom. Following a breathalizer test, Leblanc's blood alcohol content was found to be 0.085 percent.

Leblanc has been sent a summons for a preliminary hearing before Clark scheduled for Jan. 21.

Drug deal results in multiple charges for two

A Towanda man and woman face drug charges following an incident that occurred on Sept. 9 in Towanda.

According to information filed by police with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, Scott Lee Maloney, 33, and Donna Jean Holland, 51, have been charged with possession with the intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance; criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility after they allegedly sold 15 Percocet tablets valued at $180 to two other individuals.

Maloney was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 24. Holland was arraigned before Clark and her preliminary hearing is also scheduled for Dec. 24.

Wysox woman faces drug charges

According to information filed by police with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, Brenda Jo Johnson, 56, of Wysox has been charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance; criminal use of a communication facility and possession of a controlled substance after she allegedly sold Percocet pills valued at $120 to another individual on Nov. 27, 2013 in Towanda.

Johnson was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw in lieu of $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing before Clark is scheduled for Dec. 24.

Trooper Robert Richter of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Daniels for the offense on July 8, 2014, following investigation of a theft that occurred in Monroeton Township.

Scott Woodruff, 39, Monroeton, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to eight days and court costs. Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Woodruff for the offense on June 5, 2014, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Robert Stumph Jr, 35, of Sayre, PA was sentenced to imprisonment in a State Prison for 18 months to 72 months, fines of $3000, for three convictions for Indecent Assault. Each offense was a misdemeanor of the first degree. Stumph, Jr will be a lifetime registered sex offender. Officer Steven Burlingame of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Stumph, Jr for the offenses in May 2014. Stumph, Jr was sentenced on three cases in the same sentencing proceeding. Each case involved a different victim.

Cynthia Hammell, 39, of Towanda, Pa., was resentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for five days to 18 months, fines, costs, restitution of $500 and costs, plus $250 and restitution, for the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Trooper Michael Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hammell following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough and Township.

Charles Makinster, 49, Gillett, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 30 days to six months and a $1,000 fine plus costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Robert Edgerton of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Makinster following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ridgebury Township.

Ryan Hunsinger, 19, Sayre, Pa., was resentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, and a fine of $250, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officer Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Hunsinger for the offense in June 2012.

Ryan Hunsinger, 19, Sayre, Pa., was resentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, and fines of $250, for the offense of Default in Required Appearance, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Brian Wibirt of the Bradford County Sheriff's Office arrested Hunsinger for the offense in November 2013.

Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vanderpool following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Kelly Place, 35 of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 21 days to 23 months, 29 days, a fine of $1,000, plus court costs for the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver/Manufacture, a felony. Trooper Michael Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Place following investigation of an incident that occurred in Franklin Township.

Ashley Pollox, 25, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to 12 months and fines of $1,000 and restitution of $220; she will also lose her driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under Influence, a misdemeanor, Theft by Deception, misdemeanor second defense. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police and Officer Steven Burlingame of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Pollox for the offense on Sept. 13, 2014, and Jan. 13, 2014.

Shawn Bunce, 35, of Spencer, N.Y., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 45 days and State Intermediate Punishment for 24 months; State Intermediate Punishment is a two year program. It begins with at least seven months of regular state prison, followed by custody in a drug/alcohol addiction center, followed by restricted living in a residential program. The prison administration must be satisfied that the prisoner has made progress in rehabilitation from substance abuse. If not, the prisoner will be dismissed from S.I.P. and resentenced. Bunce will pay fines of $1,500; he will also lose his driver's license for 18 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Pamela Bennett, 32, of Erin, N.Y., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 24 months; defendant did 83 days incarceration, fine of $300 and court costs, for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police department arrested Bennett for the offense on Aug. 8, 2014.

Jacob Gilbert, 33, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Gilbert will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Gilbert for the offense in July 2014.

Michael Maslov, 66 LeRaysville, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Indecent Exposure, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Maslov will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Kyle Gruber of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Maslov following investigation of an incident that occurred in Pike Township.

Jared Keeney, 34, Scranton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft of Leased Property, a felony of the third degree. Keeney will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Nate Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Keeney following investigation of an incident that occurred in Terry Township.

Daniel Doty, 31, Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Doty will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Tyler Brackman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Doty following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township.

Dannielle Leskoven, 23, Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Conspiracy/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Leskoven will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Agents of the Pennsylvania Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Leskoven following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Justin Hayslett, 47, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Indecent Assault, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Hayslett will be sentenced and have a court ordered SOA evaluation, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Hayslett for the offense in August 2014.

Anthony Stone, 26, Gillett, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Stone will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Michael Northrup of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Stone for the offense on Aug. 19, 2014.

Harold Perry, 41, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Perry will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Tyler Brackman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Perry following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ridgebury Township.

Douglas Weinman, 21, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and place on Probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Weinman will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally Weinman must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 90 days. Trooper Jeffrey Creedon of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Weinman for the offense on June 22, 2014, in Monroe Township.

Frank Chapman, 34, Waverly, N.Y., charged with the offense of Driving under Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Chapman will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally Chapman must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges on Aug. 25, 2014, for the offense in Athens Borough.

M0UNT CARMEL - Nicholas Karlaza, 23, of 300 W. Fig St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay for harassment involving incidents at noon Nov. 21 in the 300 block of West Fig Street in which he allegedly repeatedly harassed Aaron Frantz of Fig Street.

Public drunkenness

MOUNT CARMEL - Three people were cited for public drunkenness relating to separate incidents in the borough.

Patrolman Justin Stelma cited John Curly, 22, of 117 W. North St., Marion Heights, involving an incident at 4 a.m. Nov. 27 in the 200 block of West Sixth Street.

Robin Brown, 44, of 50 N. Maple St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Lt. Christopher Buhay in connection with an incident at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Fifth and Oak streets.

Andrew Snyder, 46, of 350 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Stelma relating to an incident at 1:30 a.m. Thursday at Fifth and Oak streets.

Police said Curly, Brown and Snyder were found unresponsive and under the influence of alcohol.

Disorderly conduct

MOUNT CARMEL - Adam Gondol, 41, of 625 E. Fourth St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Cpl. David Donkochik for disorderly conduct for screaming and fighting at Second and Poplar streets at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Plant burglarized

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Selinsgrove reported someone broke into the US Concrete building, stole numerous items and caused damage between Nov. 28 and Dec. 1.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Maria Hill, 31, of Danville, has been charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with retail theft for allegedly removing merchandise valued at $181.94 from Walmart Supercenter Dec. 6.

One-car accident

EXCELSIOR - Andrew Popiel, 30, of 400 S. Shamokin St., Shamokin, suffered minor injuries in a one-car accident Saturday morning at the intersection of Route 901 and Lower Excelsior Road.

Coal Township police reported Popiel was driving a 2002 Mazda west on Route 901 at 5:08 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle while it traveled around a bend. The car struck the end of guard rail at Lower Excelsior Road and went airborne into a creek channel.

Popiel was transported by private vehicle to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where he underwent emergency room treatment before being released.

The accident remains under investigation.

Bullet strikes garage in Troy

According to state police, sometime between the dates of Dec. 12 and Dec. 14, unknown actor fired a rifle that struck a garage belonging to 66-year-old Randall Keith Mohn of Troy.

Burglary occurs in Towanda

A 40-year-old Towanda woman was recently the victim of burglary that occurred at the victim's residence in Towanda.

According to state police, perpetrators entered the victim's residence sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and stole money from the victim's purse. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda.

Man accused of terroristic threats

According to state police, an argument over land took place on Dec. 11 in Granville Summit, when the unidentified male suspect allegedly made terroristic threats to two male victims. The investigation is on-going.

Man uninjured in truck crash

A Middlebury Center man was uninjured following a one vehicle accident that occurred on Dec. 8 in Canton Township.

According to state police, Clifford Smith, 51, was driving east on Spencer road in a 2006 Kenworth truck when he experienced vehicle failure, causing the truck to strike the embankment of the roadway. Smith was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and no charges were filed.

Theft occurs in South Creek

According to state police, on Dec. 10 perpetrators cut down and removed approximately 40 blue spruce trees from a South Creek Township property belonging to a male and female victim, both 62-years-old. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Man charged with harrassment in West Burlington

According to state police, the incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Dec. 17 when Ryan Nathaniel Smith, 21, of Towanda, who was incarcerated in the Bradford County Correctional Facility, threw water on a 21-year-old Mansfield man. Smith was cited for harrassment.

Theft affects Troy Little League

Between Sept. 1 and Nov. 2, unknown actors entered a shed located in Troy Township belonging to a 33-year-old woman and stole items that belonged to the victim and the Troy Little League, according to state police.

Harrassment occurs in Monroeton

State police responded to a report of a physical altercation that occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Dec. 10. in Monroeton. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 33-year-old male and a 32-year-old female had engaged in a physical altercation and both were subsequently charged with harassment, according to state police.

Ulster woman faces drug charges

An Ulster woman has been charged with possession with the intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance as well as possession of a controlled substance following an incident that occurred on March 19 in Towanda.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, the charges stem from an incident in which Carrie Marie Labarr, 44, sold 12 Hydrocodone tablets valued at approximately $120 to another individual.

Labarr was arraigned before Clark and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 24.

Man charged after allegedly selling heroin in Towanda

A Towanda man was recently charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, Patrick Ryan Gallagher, 24, was charged after selling five packs of heroin valued at approximately $100 to another individual on Aug. 21 in Towanda.

Gallagher was arraigned before Clark in lieu of $2,500 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 24.

Towanda woman faces multiple drug charges

A Towanda woman has been charged with possession with the intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility following two incidences that occurred in Towanda.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark's office, Tina Louise Lane, 49, is accused of selling 16 Percocet tablets valued at approximately $240 to another individual on March 4. On March 17, Lane allegedly sold another 10 Percocet tablets valued at $130 to another individual.

Lane was arraigned before Clark in lieu of $5,000 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 26.

Man charged with statutory sexual assault

A Montrose man has also been charged with corruption of minors and disorderly conduct.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton's office, the charges stem from an incident that occurred in Wyalusing in which Jacob Tyler Hottle, 18, had sexual contact with an underage female in July.

Hottle was arraigned before Wheaton in lieu of $2,500 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 30.

Drug charges filed for Wysox man

A Wysox man faces charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance; criminal use of a communication facility and possession of a controlled substance following an incident that occurred on Oct. 8 in Wysox.

According to a criminal complaint filed with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton's office, Logon Carl Abbott, 23, was charged after selling 10 Percocet tablets valued at $120 to another individual.

Abbott was arraigned before Wheaton in lieu of $5,000 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 23.

School assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Four students, a 17-year-old and three 15-year-old students, were charged with disorderly conduct following a fight in a third floor hallway of the Shamokin Area Middle/High School Dec. 15.

According to Coal Township Police, several teachers had to break up the fight, and a female teacher was pushed to the ground. Her knee was injured and required treatment from the school nurse.

One 15-year-old student was also charged with aggravated assault and simple assault by police.

Public nuisance

SHAMOKIN - City Police Cpl. Bryan Primerano charged Jhoel R. Leonardo-Gonzalez, 33, of 22-11 Brookhaven Ave., Apartment 5F, Far Rockaway, N.Y., with a misdemeanor crime of public nuisances after failing to respond to 11 citations and code violation letters in a 11-month period.

Leonard-Gonzalez is the owner of record of 625-627 E. Commerce St., Shamokin, which has a number of code and safety problems, including portions of the building being in danger of collapsing, detached sicing and rain gutters, high weeds outside and broken glass inside.

The charge was filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on Dec. 18, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 27.

Disruption

COAL TOWNSHIP - Two students, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, from Shamokin Area Middle/High School, were cited for disorderly conduct after the two engaged in a fight during a program at the school at 2 p.m. Monday in the school's auditorium.

School district employees were able to remove both students and the program resumed.

Criminal mischief

MILLERSBURG - Misty Lynn Dunbar, 19, of Elizabethville, and a 17-year-old Millersburg female were charged with criminal mischief by state police at Lykens following an incident at 10:34 a.m. Monday in the BG's Market parking lot.

According to police, Dunbar and the female drove to the market and parked next to an unattended vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Dalmatia female. The Millersburg teen then stabbed the Dalmatia female's rear passenger tire several times before the two fled the scene.

The incident was captured on security cameras outside the market.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum, of Elizabethville.

Simple assault

SHAMOKIN - Tiffany M. Vezo, 22, of 9 Raspberry Hill, Shamokin, was charged with simple assault and harassment following a fight at her residence at 5:05 p.m. Dec. 13.

According to court documents filed by Shamokin City Police Patrolman Scott Weaver, Vezo got into a fight with her boyfriend. Vezo allegedly pushed him out the door, bit his arm and kicked him in the groin.

Charges were filed Dec. 18 with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 27.

Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - A charge of retail theft was filed against Beverly Ann Deskie, 52, of 629 Logan Run Road, Danville. According to police, Deskie allegedly tried to leave Walmart without paying for $118.65 worth of clothing Nov. 22.

Deskie will have a preliminary hearing on the charge Jan. 27 before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Drug paraphernalia

SHAMOKIN - Whitney M. Bostian, 24, of 1013 N. Franklin St., was charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at the Dollar General store, 30 E. Independence St., at 8:58 p.m. Thursday.

Shamokin City Police Cpl. Bryan Primerano reported in court documents store personnel detained Bostian for allegedly concealing $36.32 in items underneath her clothing.

Police searched Bostian and found heroin wrappers in her purse. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 27.

- Kevin J. Stouffer, 26, of 104 N. Poplar St., Coal Township, was sentenced to one year supervised probation and ordered to pay a $200 fine plus court costs after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct Tuesday.

He was charged by Coal Township Cpl. Terry Ketchem Jr. after a June 17 incident at the Plaza at Coal Township.

Charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn.

- Jordan L. Poplaskie, 24, of 3072 Upper Road, Shamokin, was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus court costs after pleading guilty to a citation for disorderly conduct.

Poplaskie was charged by Coal Township Police Patrolman Edward Purcell Jr. in relation to an Aug. 9 incident at Maple and Poplar streets.

A misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct was withdrawn.
