Montour crash

WASHINGTONVILLE - A Coal Township man crashed into a parked car along Water Street (Route 54) Sept. 12 in this Montour County borough and escaped injury, according to state police at Milton.

William T. Portzline, 26, was driving a 1997 Dodge Dakota east near Peach Alley at 11:23 p.m. when he reportedly swerved to the right and drove into a 2006 Ford Focus. Both vehicles were disabled as a result, police said.

Police said he was wearing a seat belt.

Portzline was cited with careless driving and roadways laned for traffic.

C.T. crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - A Northumberland man crashed while driving west on Route 54 near Aqua Pennsylvania water company about 12:58 p.m. Tuesday.

Coal Township Police said Michael Gray, 46, was driving a 1995 Ford Contour at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday when he crossed over the eastbound lanes for an unknown reason and struck a guide rail, then crossed back over the highway and struck another guide rail where the vehicle came to rest.

Police said he was not injured. His vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed.

Gray will be cited for careless driving, police said.

Police Briefs

DUI Charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Lucinda T. Williams, 51, of Towanda was arrested on Sunday for DUI after she was stopped for a traffic code violation, police said.

The arrest occurred at 1:12 a.m. on U.S. Route 220 in Towanda Township, state police at Towanda said.

Couple accused of theft in Overton Twp.

Matthew John Jenner, 30, and his wife, Stephanie Jenner, are accused of stealing a number of items from Richard H. Jenner of Overton Township, police said.

The stolen items included $20 in cash, skid steer forks, and a 5-gallon gas can full of fuel, state police said.

The theft occurred on Aug. 1 at Richard Jenner's residence, state police at Towanda said.

Stephanie Jenner, 26, and Matthew Jenner were both charged with illegally entering an unoccupied residence, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, and receiving stolen property, police said.

The last known address for Matthew and Stephanie Jenner is in New Albany, state police said.

Stephanie and Matthew Jenner have been sent summonses ordering them to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Oct. 23.

Towanda man charged with assault

Christopher Scott Cassellbury, 21, of Towanda has been charged with simple assault and harassment, police said.

The charges stem from a domestic dispute that occurred at a residence on South Main Street in Towanda Township on Aug. 21, police said.

Twenty-three-year-old Jessica Mary Johnson told police that Cassellbury slammed her up against the wall, threw her to the ground, and struck her in the back with a broomstick, according to the state police.

Johnson also told police that Cassellbury punched her in the back of the head and in her upper back, according to the state police.

Cassellbury has been sent a summons which orders him to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Oct. 23.

United Rentals vandalized

An unknown person broke a window pane at United Rentals on State Route 220 in Milan at 5 a.m. on Sept. 13, state police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (570) 265-2186.

Three women sexually assaulted

State police said an investigation into the sexual assaults of three female victims in Ulster Township that occurred between 1998 and 2010 is continuing.

Police said the three victims are a 27-year-old from Towanda, a 25-year-old from Waverly, N.Y., and 21-year-old woman also from Waverly, N.Y.

Police said the victims reported that they were sexually assaulted over a period of multiple years.

Towanda area man faces drug charges

Ronald Francis Bahr, 52, of Towanda RR 5 has been charged with possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The charges stem from an Aug. 22 incident on Weston Road in Monroe Township in which Bahr was in possession of a digital scale with a white residue on it, police said.

Bahr is also accused of possessing a glass pipe with a burnt residue during the incident, state police at Towanda said.

Bahr has been sent a summons which orders him to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Oct. 30.

Man accused of drug possession in Monroe Twp.

Robert Lee Bump, 38, of Towanda has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The charges stem from an Aug. 22 incident in which the state police and employees of the Bradford County Sheriff's Office were serving warrants at a residence on Weston Road in Monroe Township, police said.

Bump arrived at the residence in a 1998 Ford Escort that had no registration plate, police said. State police said they observed two baggies of suspected bath salts in plain view on the driver side floor of the vehicle, in close proximity to Bump.

The substance in the baggies field tested positive for a controlled substance, police said.

Male faces charges after Burlington accident

A 20-year-old male faces charges stemming from an Aug. 2 motor vehicle accident in Burlington Borough that resulted in major internal injuries to one of the passengers, police said.

William Lewis Wallace, 20, of Elmira, N.Y., has been charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol, underage consumption of alcohol, and several traffic violations, state police said.

Wallace was under the influence of alcohol when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and state Route 4013, causing a two-vehicle accident, police said.

A front-seat passenger in the other vehicle, Ruth Brown, suffered major internal injuries, requiring her to remain in the intensive care unit at Arnot Ogden Medical Center for an extended period of time, according to the state police at Towanda.

A blood test revealed that Wallace's blood alcohol content was .045 percent on the day of the accident.

Wallace, who lives on Hudson Street, has been sent a summons which orders him to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Nov. 1, authorities said.

19-year-old charged with possessing drug paraphernalia

Leuceila Jade May, 19, of Athens has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a Aug. 30 incident on Elmira Street in Athens Borough.

According to police, multiple smoking devices used for marijuana and a marijuana grinder were found inside May's residence.

May has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Oct. 15 for a preliminary hearing.

Man leads officers on foot pursuit

Davaun W. Stedge, 25, of Columbia Crossroads has been charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after being involved in a fight at the Lehigh Tavern in Sayre on Sept. 15.

According to police, Stedge was involved in a fight at the bar after midnight and, after seeing police arrive on scene, fled on foot.

Officers pursued Stedge as he ran down several Sayre Borough streets before an officer intercepted him and tackled him to the ground.

Stedge was arraigned on Sept. 16 by Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton and is being held on $5,000 bail.

Stedge has a preliminary hearing scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Sept. 24.

Man charged in dispute

Walter J. McGuire, 41, of Sayre has been charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, public drunkenness and harassment relating to a Sept. 13 incident in Athens Township.

According to police, McGuire was involved in a dispute with an unidentified female inside a truck along Wilawana Road.

Several people who live on the road witnessed the dispute and attempted to stop it, police said.

McGuire became upset with those who intervened and attempted to fight some of them.

McGuire was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail.

McGuire is scheduled to appear before Judge Shaw on Sept. 24 for a preliminary hearing.

Gillette man faces drug charges

Jesse Kelvin Briggs, 23, of Gillette has been charged with manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture or deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing an offensive weapon after a Sept. 15 incident on North Elmer Avenue in Sayre.

According to police, parole officers were conducting an investigation at the North Elmer Avenue residence when Briggs attempted to leave the house with a bag.

Police stopped Briggs from leaving the scene, and while searching the bag found numerous items frequently used to package narcotics including 50 small green baggies, one of which contained a white powdery substance, a digital scale and other items. Police also found hypodermic needles and a three inch long spring assisted knife.

Briggs was arraigned on Sept. 16 by Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Sept. 16 and remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Briggs is scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Sept. 24 for a preliminary hearing.

OLD FORGE POLICE: Officers responded to more than 35 calls between Sept. 8- 14.

On Sept. 8, officers were dispatched to investigate a domestic dispute in a home in the 200 block of Sussex Street. A parking complaint sent officer to a home in the 100 block of Third Street. Offices responded to investigate a dog complaint in the 500 block of Main Street. A reported domestic dispute also sent officers to a home on Connell Street.

On Sept. 9, officers were dispatched to investigate a motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of Main Street.

On Sept. 10, officers were dispatched to investigate a theft from a motor vehicle on William Street. Officers responded to investigate a harassment complaint in a home in the 100 block of Oak Street. A similar call sent officers to a home on South Main Street. Officers were also dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in Barber Street.

On Sept. 11, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported road hazard on Lonesome Road. A report of a possible prowler sent officers to a home in the 100 block of Sanderson Street. Officers responded to assist a disabled motor vehicle in the intersection on Main Street and Moosic Road. Officers also responded to investigate a theft from a motor vehicle in the 500 block of Sampson Street.

On Sept. 12, officers were dispatched to investigate a medication theft from a home in the 500 block of West Mary Street. Officers responded to assist a disabled motorist in the 800 block of South Main Street. A report of counterfeit money sent officers to the 400 block of South Main Street.

On Sept. 13, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported hit-and-run accident in the 400 block of Bridge Street.

On Sept. 14, officers were dispatched to conduct a welfare check in a home in the 300 block of North Main Street.

TALYOR POLICE: Officers responded to 85 calls between Sept. 8-15.

On Sept. 8, officers were dispatched to the Walmart on Main Street to investigate a retail theft. A report of a wandering black bear sent officers to the 600 block of South Keyser Avenue.

On Sept. 9, officers were dispatched to investigate a domestic dispute in a home in the 300 block of Schrader Street. A report of stolen cell phones sent officers to the Price Chopper on Main Street. Officers also responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 500 block of South Keyser Avenue.

On Sept. 10, officers were dispatched to investigate a retail theft at the Walmart on Main Street. A reported alarm sent officers to the 1000 block of Prince Street. Officers also responded to conduct a welfare check in a home in the 200 block of Linewood Drive.

On Sept. 11, officers were dispatched to investigate a domestic dispute in a home in the 700 block of West Grove Street. Police were dispatched to investigate reports that numerous vehicles were broken into throughout the borough. Officers also dispatched to investigate a reported burglary in a home in the 600 block of South Keyser Avenue.

On Sept. 12, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of criminal mischief in the 100 block of East Atherton Street. A domestic dispute sent officers to the 700 block of South Keyser Avenue. Officers also responded to the 100 block of Village Drive to investigate a report of someone soliciting after dark.

On Sept. 13, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported domestic dispute in a home in the 200 block of Village Drive. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the Davis Street Bridge. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and drug possession. Officers also responded to investigate a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot of the Walmart on Main Street.

On Sept. 14, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported burglary in progress in the 100 block of Pon Street. Officers arrived at the home and conducted an arrest. Officers also responded to investigate a report of illegal fireworks in the 300 block of Sibley Avenue.

MOOSIC POLICE: Officers responded to more than 80 calls between Aug. 25- Aug. 31.

On Aug. 25, officers were dispatched to investigate a bear complaint on May Street. Officers also responded to investigate a criminal mischief complaint at PNC Field on Montage Mountain Road.

On Aug. 26, officers were dispatched to investigate a theft complaint on George Street.

On Aug. 27, officers were dispatched to investigate a motor vehicle accident on John Drive. A report of a suspicious person sent officers to Honor Park.

On Aug. 28, officers were dispatched to investigate a theft complaint at the Turkey Hill on Birney Avenue. A fraud complaint sent officers to a home in the 500 block of Orchard Street. Officers were sent to the 500 block of Spring Street to investigate a criminal mischief complaint.

On Aug. 29, officers were dispatched to assisted the fire department with a call in the 3600 block of Wylam Avenue. Officers were dispatched to assist Old Forge police with a call in the 4000 block of Birney Avenue. A complaint of juveniles causing a disturbance sent officers to the 600 block of Main Street.

On Aug. 30, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported theft in the 4000 block of Main Street. A reported road hazard sent officers to the 800 block of Main Street.

On Aug. 31, officers were dispatched to investigate an activated alarm in the 3900 block of Birney Avenue. Officers also responded to investigate a reported assault in the 300 block of Main Street.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Cody A. Varga, 25, of Columbia Cross Roads, by Sayre Borough police, on Aug. 18, on North Lehigh Avenue in Sayre. Varga has also been charged with careless driving, failure to keep right, driving with an open container of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia. A blood alcohol test revealed that Varga's blood alcohol content was .20 percent on the day of his arrest. Varga has been sent a summons to appear Oct. 15 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Anthony D. Santi, 29, of Owego, N.Y., by Sayre Borough police, on Sept. 1, off exit 60 of Route 17 in Sayre. Santi has also been charged with careless driving, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A blood alcohol test revealed that Santi's blood alcohol content was .21 percent on the day of his arrest. Santi has been sent a summons to appear Oct. 22 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Robert L. Strope, 41, of Nichols, N.Y., by Athens Borough police, on July 4, on North Main Street in Athens. A blood alcohol test revealed that Strope's blood alcohol content was .23 percent on the day of his arrest. Strope has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 5 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Leslie Michael Palumbo, 46, of Sayre, by Athens Borough police, on Sept. 10, on South River Street in Athens. A blood alcohol test revealed that Palumbo's blood alcohol content was .14 percent on the day of his arrest. Palumbo has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 5 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Selena Ann Nogar, 22, of Athens, by Athens Township police, on Sept. 10, on Westbrook Street in Athens Township. Nogar has also been charged with driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. A blood alcohol test revealed that Nogar's blood alcohol content was .19 percent on the day of her arrest. Nogar has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 5 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Sayre police seek hit-and-run suspect

Sayre Borough police seek an unknown suspect involved in a Wednesday hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.

According to information from borough police, at an unknown time Wednesday, the actor struck a red Mercury Tracer in the 600 block of North Elmer Avenue. The vehicle that struck the Mercury is believed to be green in color and would have passenger side or front-end damage, police said.

Waverly police investigating burglary

The Waverly Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred Tuesday, according to information from the department.

Police said two subjects entered a local establishment at about 1 a.m. Sept. 17 and damaged machines, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police have posted surveillance video of the incident on the department's Facebook page and ask that anyone with information contact police at (607) 565-2836 or (607) 565-2213 after 5 p.m.

Waverly man charged

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies for failing to register as a sex offender.

According to information from the sheriff's office, David E. Stedge, 47, was arrested following an investigation which found him not physically residing as the address he supplied to the state sex offender registry.

Stedge was arraigned in Barton town court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. Stedge was to reappear in court Sept. 17.

Sexual assaults reported

State police at Towanda are investigating reported sexual assaults that occurred over a period of over ten years in Ulster Township.

According to information from state police, three females reported to police that they were sexually assaulted in the township between 1998 and 2010. Investigation is ongoing, police said.

Window broken

State police at Towanda are investigating a case of criminal mischief in Milan.

According to state police information, at about 5 a.m. Sept. 13, an unknown actor or actors broke a window pane at United Rentals on Route 220. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Clothing stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Marty Searls, 49, of 123 Meade St., reported to township police someone entered his vehicle and removed $624.50 worth of newly purchased clothing sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The clothing removed included Hollister shirts and a black Harley Davidson jacket.

One-car crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:45 p.m. Sept. 5 on Route 901 at Lower Excelsior Road.

Township police report Alicia Lahr, 17, of Shamokin, was traveling west on Route 901 in a 2005 Saturn ION sedan, when she lost control of the vehicle and skidded across the roadway.

Police say Lahr's vehicle traveled across the east lane and onto the berm on the south side of the road before striking and traveling across a drainage culvert.

Lahr's vehicle sustained damage to the front end and undercarriage, but no one was injured and no fire department response was needed.

Theft from vehicle

COAL TOWNSHIP - Chad Brokenshire, 30, of Coal Run, reported to Coal Township Police someone entered his vehicle and stole cash and debit cards sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 12:15 a.m. Thursday.

Burglary

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington received a report from a 63-year-old female who said someone entered her home along Route 890 and removed personal items, including a laptop computer and jewelry, sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Drug charges

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Foster U. Renn III, 23, of 1305 W. Montgomery St., Coal Township, has been charged by Patrolman Christopher Grow with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a Dec. 28 incident at Glosser Motor Inn along Route 487 in Elysburg.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Renn delivered eight bags of heroin to a confidential informant for $150.

Renn was arraigned and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Drug offenses

MOUNT CARMEL - Daniel J. Shields, 19, of 123 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by Mount Carmel Chief of Police Todd Owens and Patrolman William Adamski with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession with intent to deliver oxycodone hydrochloride, possession of marijuana and eight counts of possession of drug paraphernalia involving a Sept. 17 incident at his residence.

In addition to possessing the three drugs, Shields is accused of possessing a black metal grinder, black glass smoking pipe, multiple clear plastic zip bags, a multi-colored glass smoking pipe and a clear glass smoking device.

Shields was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Liquor law

SUNBURY - The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Sunbury Steam Fire Engine Company at Center and Penn streets on Sept. 12 for failing to maintain complete and truthful records for two years pertaining to the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act. The fire company also was cited for sales to non-members.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Dennis Lentini Jr., 43, of Kulpmont, was cited Sept. 18 by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for harassment relating to a July 17 disturbance at West End Athletic Club, 301 N. Vine St.

Lentini, who is a club member and patron, is accused of repeatedly following a liquor control enforcement officer around the club and harassing her by asking numerous questions about her identity. Lentini also allegedly forced the officer to display her driver's license and threatened to run a background check on her through his job with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The bureau said Lentini and other patrons followed the officer while she was leaving the club and told her they would check her vehicle for police items and also check her registration.

Burglary offenses

MOUNT CARMEL - Eric J. Ginck, 34, of 240 S. Beech St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Lt. Christopher Buhay with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at night.

Ginck is accused of stealing $7,611.94 worth of tools owned by Andrew Huber, of 337 S. Locust St., Mount Carmel. Police said the tools were stolen between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 from 544 W. Second St., where Huber was performing renovations.

Theft charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were filed by Patrolman Jason Drumheller against David Matthew Brown, 29, of 236 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel.

Police reported Brown is accused of stealing a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun owned by Raymond Kornacki, of 29 N. Chestnut St., on Sept. 3.

Simple assault

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Michelle L. Duttry, 42, of 102 Nottingham Drive, Elysburg, was charged by Cpl. Bryon Chowka with simple assault and harassment involving a Sept. 13 disturbance at her home.

Police reported Duttry grabbed her daughter Maranda Stine by the hair, hit her head against a refrigerator several times and pushed her into a kitchen table and chair before throwing her onto the floor. Stine suffered multiple injuries, police said.

Duttry was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury after failing to post $20,000 bail.

Duttry waived her right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and was ordered to appear for plea court Oct. 21 in Northumberland County Court, where she can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

DUI

LOCUST GAP - Ronald R. Dimm III, 28, of 22 S. Fifth St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, speeding and careless driving involving a May 16 traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Route 901.

Police reported Dimm had alprazolam and oxycodone in his blood system.

DUI

ATLAS - Patrolman Matthew Filarski has charged Jason D. Pachutski, 29, of 137 Greco Lane, Mount Carmel, with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, resisting arrest, failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving and failure to sign his registration card.

Police reported the charges relate to a July 10 accident between Laurel and Girard streets.

Police said Pachutski refused to undergo chemical testing to determine his blood alcohol content.

Burglary reported in South Creek Twp.

A 53-year-old Raubsville, Pa. man told state police at Towanda that someone broke into his cabin sometime between August and September on Dildine Road in South Creek Township and took a lawn mower, scrap metal, and liquor.

DUI crash reported

State police at Towanda said William Lewis Wallace, 20, of Elmira, N.Y. is accused of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and failed to stop for a stop sign, resulting in a two-vehicle crash at 6:40 p.m. Aug. 2 on Route 6 at State Route 4013 in Burlington in which one of the occupants of the other vehicle had major injuries.

Police said he is accused of underage drinking and aggravated assault while DUI.

Police did not list the name of the victim.

Towanda woman charged with possession of drug paraphernalia

Lindsey Ann Marie Bashore, 20, of Towanda was recently charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Bashore was in possession of two syringes and six plastic straws on Aug. 7 at a location on the Burlington Turnpike in Towanda Township, police said. Bashore admitted to police that she used the items to inhale and inject bath salts, according to the state police.

Bashore has been sent a summons ordering her to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Nov. 1.

Towanda man faces theft, drug charges

Jonathan M. Hicks, 26, of Towanda has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, and receiving stolen property, police said.

The charges stem from a Sept. 16 incident in which Hicks stole a cell phone from a vehicle that was parked in the Dandy Mini Mart on Main Street in Towanda, police said.

Towanda Borough Police Officer Josh Lake said he arrested Hicks for the theft later that day on Lombard Street in the borough.

While searching Hicks following his arrest, police found a pill box containing three Teva 832 Clonazepam pills and two 2530 V Clonazepam pills, police said.

Monroeton man charged with indecent exposure

Kyle Thomas Dunn, 30, of Monroeton was recently charged with indecent exposure after he was observed masturbating in his vehicle in the Kmart department store's parking lot in Wysox Township, police said.

The incident occurred at 6 p.m. on Sept. 17, state police at Towanda said.

Paraphernalia charge

A Sayre woman was recently charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Sayre Borough police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Audrey K. Vandyke, 38, was found to be in possession of straws, glass pipes and a homemade smoking pipe during investigation into an incident Sept. 15 at a North Elmer Avenue apartment. Vandyke was also found to have a warrant for her arrest through the Bradford County Sheriff's Office, police said.

Vandyke's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22.

Illegal use of solvents

COAL TOWNSHIP - Kristen Blass, 30, of 141 S. Owl St., Coal Township, has been charged by Patrolman David Sage with illegal use of solvents and noxious substances and disorderly conduct relating to a Sept. 13 incident in the parking lot at Walmart Supercenter along Route 61.

Police reported Blass inhaled a can of Ultra Duster so she could experience a high from the vapors while knowing the solvent can have harmful or fatal effects. A witness who became alarmed from seeing Blass inhale the solvent called police.

The Bradford County District Attorney, Daniel J. Barrett, reports that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.:

Ryan Allis, 18, Towanda, Pa., was readmitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program with 12 months of supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, drug and alcohol evaluation and testing, and community service, for the offense of Theft By Unlawful Taking. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Allis for the offense. Allis's original placement in the ARD program had been revoked due to violation of program conditions.

Travis M. Ruvolo, 22, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a total term of two years, and a fine of $250.00, for the offenses of Simple Assault and Resisting Arrest. Officer Jason Serfas of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Ruvolo for the offense.

Jamey Roach, 31, Sardis, Tenn., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months, and a fine of $750.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Roach will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Roach for the offense.

The made to order vest was recently delivered and will protect the K-9's from bullet and stab wounds as well as blunt forced trauma.

Vested Interest in K-9's Inc is a 501C (3) all volunteer charity located in East Taunton, Mass., whose mission is to provide bullet and staff protective vests for law enforcement dogs throughout the United States. Each vest costs $950 and has a 5-year warranty. The nonprofit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially life saving body armor for their four legged K-9 officers. Through private and corporate sponsorships, Vested Interest in K-9's Inc has provided over 435 law enforcement dogs with protective vests since their inception in August of 2009. Over $400,000 in K-9 vests have been donated in 35 states including Alaska and Hawaii.

Two recent events made it possible for the charity to provide 217 vests for our four legged crime fighters across the country. January 2013, a regional Groupon Grassroots campaign naming Vested Interest in K-9's as a charity partner raised over $55,000 which allowed the donation of 53 K-9 vests and a nationwide Groupon campaign in March 2013 raised over $155,000 providing vests for 163 K-9s in 30 states.

The organization orders the Armor Express vests made in Central Lakes, Mich., exclusively from distributor Regency Police Supply in Hyannis, Mass., who also does the custom embroidery on the body armor.

New K-9 graduates as well as K-9s with expired vests are eligible to apply for the ballistic vets.

More than 431 bullet and stab protective bests have been provided for law enforcement dogs throughout the country.

Motorcycle rider hurt

GOWEN CITY - A man from the Coatesville area of Chester County was injured about 12:30 p.m. Saturday when his motorcycle struck a wooden guard rail post along Route 125.

The driver, who was not identified, was traveling south when he veered to avoid an animal, hit the post and went over a small embankment. The man, who was with a group of motorcyclists, suffered a leg injury.

It was not known if he was transported to a hospital.

State police at Stonington investigated, and East Cameron, Trevorton and Area Ambulance personnel responded.

Ricky Pearson, of Chicago, Ill., was sentenced to one year in the Tioga County Jail with restitution for Attempted Grand Larceny.

Eric Kline, of Owego, N.Y., was sentenced to 300 days in the Tioga County Jail for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Tyler Hanford, of Barton, N.Y., was sentenced to five years' probation for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree and three years' probation for Driving While Intoxicated with more than .08 Blood Alcohol Content.

Motorcyclist injured

GOWEN CITY - A Royersford man suffered what state police described as a "major injury" Saturday after he struck fence posts along Route 125 and was thrown from a motorcycle.

Timothy R. Kronstain, 32, was wearing a helmet at the time of the 1 p.m. crash, according to state police at Stonington. He was taken by AREA Services ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was listed in serious condition Sunday night.

Kronstain was driving a 2007 Honda 1300 south in East Cameron Township when he lost control of the motorcycle along a curve. He veered off the roadway and struck fence posts, causing him to be thrown to the ground.

Reports from the scene Saturday indicated he had veered to avoid an animal, although police did not include that in a public information report.

Police said he will be cited for speeding.

DUI Charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Robert John Thetga, 29, of Warren Center, by state police, on July 19, on Cotton Hollow Road in Windham Township.

Thetga has also been charged with failing to drive in a single lane and not having a license plate light.

On the night of his arrest, Thetga had a blood alcohol content of .119 percent, police said.

Thetga has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Nov. 5 for a preliminary hearing.

Hilary Anne Brewster, 50, of Binghamton, NY, by state police, on June 22, on State Route 706 in Stevens Township.

Brewster has also been charged with failing to drive in a single lane, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.

Brewster was involved in a head on accident with a water truck which left her injured in the intensive care unit at Robert Packer Hospital, police said.

On the night of her arrest, Brewster had a blood alcohol content of .210 percent, police said.

Brewster has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Nov. 5 for a preliminary hearing.

Ebed Shama Delozier, 28, of Falls, by state police, on Aug. 16, on State Route 2010 at the intersection of Woods Road in Terry Township.

Delozier has also been charged with failing to drive in a single lane, having a break light out, carrying a loaded rifle and shotgun in a vehicle and careless driving.

Police said Delozier had a loaded Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun and loaded .22 caliber Savage rifle in his vehicle when he was pulled over.

On the night of his arrest, Delozier had a blood alcohol content of .196 percent, police said.

Delozier has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Nov. 5 for a preliminary hearing.

Desiree Elizabeth Thoubburon, 40, of Phoenix, AZ, by state police, on Sept. 12, on State Route 6 in Wysox Township.

Thoubburon has also been charged with driving without a license and careless driving.

On the night of her arrest, Thoubburon refused to submit to a blood alcohol test, police said.

Thoubburon has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Nov. 12 for a preliminary hearing.

Vehicle strikes horse

Dylan Michael Cranmer, 24, of Warren Center has been charged with accidents involving injury or death, reckless driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident relating to a Aug. 17 incident on James Road in Warren township.

According to police, Cranmer was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck a horse and rider with the passenger side mirror of his car.

The mirror struck the ankle of the victim and the right rear of the horse, police said.

The extent of injuries to the victim or his horse were not disclosed in a police affidavit.

Cranmer has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Nov. 5 for a preliminary hearing.
